Playstation Completion List

So, I want to quickly round up the games on my two Sony consoles (the Playstation 1 and 2) before moving into the next gen in full force, so I'm making a list of all the games that I still need to play.

So far, my list looks like this:

PS2:
God of War
God of War II
Odin Sphere
Final Fantasy X-2
Ico
Dragon Quest 8
Guitar Hero
Dark Cloud
Dark Chronicle
Star Ocean

PS1:
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Castlevania: Sympathy of the Night
Heart of Darkness
Breath of Fire 4
Grandia
Front Mission 3
Chrono Cross

What I'm wondering if is there are any other good PS2/1 games that are worth buying and completing. As I trade in games after I've finished them, I can't quite remember all of the PS2 games I've played so far, but the list looks somthing like this:

Okami
Final Fantasy XII
Jade Cocoon 2
Devil May Cry 1
Devil May Cry 3
Jak 3
Shadow of the Colossus
Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts 2
Time Crisis 2

If you say a game that I've havn't mentioned, I will add it to one of the lists.

You seem like an RPG fan. Try getting:

PSX:
  • Breath of Fire 3
  • Breath of Fire 4
  • Hogs of War

There's some good PS2 games I know of too, but I gotta go off and do a laundry run so maybe I'll post here later.

Okay, Darkhood, is Breath of Fire a series where I have to have played all the games in the series to understand/fully enjoy? Or is it like Final Fantasy, where every game is seperate from one another?

I'll put BoF4 on the list anyway, as its got some good reviews.

I'm not so sure about Hogs of War.

Oh, and just to clarify, I'm really only looking for single player game. Not nessicarally story driven, though that would be nice too.

PS: Cheers Fuzzle King- not sure i'll get it yet, but it certainly looks like a great deal. Appreciate the link

Dark Cloud
Dark Chronicle
Star Ocean Till the End of Time
Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts 2

Along with the FF's they are the best 5 RPGs on PS2

I would also suggest these:

Project Zero trilogy
Silent Hill trilogy (Don't get 4 )
Guitar Hero trilogy
Ace Combat 5 (Best storyline outside an RPG)
Broken Sword series.

And thats all I can think of at the moment.

Brilliant, Wings of Fire, thats really useful I already have the Kingdom Hearts games (will update the list in a moment), but Star Ocean, Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle are going on the list, as well as Guitar Hero. I'm unsold on the others, but, again, If i find them cheap, i'll pick them up.

Yep, completed the Crash games, thanks anyway. Can't say that I'm really interested in any of Sonys new consoles- when the PS3 comes down in price (like, ALOT), I may yet one for FFXIII and MGS4, and the PSP has one or two titles i'm interested in (Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid), but I prefer my DS for any portable gaming.

Oh, Tombi! Maybe i'm thinking of a differant game, but i've just watched some gameplay footage and I think its a game that a friends of mine used to have. Yeah, I remember really enjoying it. I must have been about 6...

Anyways, any other games you guys can reccomend? Also, which is the best Guitar Hero, as I imagine that I will only be purchasing one of them?

Okay, I've got quite alot to be going on with there, but If there are any real must haves that I've just managed to overlook but really deserve a playthrough (eg. God of War, Ico), continue to post them.

Added Grandia and Timesplitters.

Front Mission 3 is a great PS1 RPG by Square. It's got a deeper story then most FF games and it's really long, plus it's replayable.

I'd reccomend it.

Sorry for not updating in a while guys.

Found Metal Gear Solid (which should absolutly be on my list, just a bit of an oversight) in a charity shop the other day for pennys, and I couldn't belive my luck. I couldn't belive my lack of luck when I put it in my playstation and found that it was an NTSC disk (I have a PAL Playstation).

Thanks for the games Rupture Farms; some of them I have already played, and some of them I'm just not interested in, but I will pick up Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is I see it cheap. One question about Jak; is it worth it if I have played the third one, but not the previous 2, seeing as the third one was widley considered the best in the series. I don't usually miss games in a franchise like that, but I got Jak 3 as a Christmas pressie.

Anyway, I'm also going to add Soul Caliber 3 to the list.

I may well be asking for XBox and Gamecube completion lists in the future (I like to try everything). Seeing as I have a Wii now, GC is easy, and I want to play the two Oddworld games on the XBox at some point.

EDIT: Oh, crap, can't edit the top post anymore. Will write a new list in a mo.

PS1:
Heart Of Darkness.
Ghost In The Shell.
Tombi (Very rare, would be expensive if you could find it).
Dragon Valor (A little Hack 'n' Slash but still very good).
Jade Cocoon (The original mind you, 2 was a disappointment).
Ape Escape.
Silent Hill (Only if you like horror/puzzle games).
Resident Evil 2 (Same reason as Silent Hill).
Star Ocean the second story.
Medieval.

PS2:
Time Splitters 2.
Guitar Hero Series (3rd is the best).

You must try Dark Cloud or Dark Chronicle before you buy them, I found the games to be extremely repetitive, I gave up on Dark Cloud when I discovered the second area of the game was almost exactly the same as the first, only harder.

Strangely enough I can't think of many PS2 games. I'll add more if I can think of any.
