who else thinks this game looks really cool and interessting?

Its about a flawed mercanary and a pill popping scitzophrenic (i have no idea how to spell that) trying to get back Kane's daughter

Its made by the people who did Freedom fighters and most notablly Hitman series

i've read a few reviews (specially from the dreaded ign.com) and its got a 7 and an 8 out of 10 (from 2 different websites) so i think it'll be quite good

Looks good to me, I'll absolutely have a go with this game, been hearing a lot about it. First I have to complete Crysis though.

I'm hesitant. The game certainly sounds good, and it definitely looks good, but the hitman series is absolute garbage.

Well, the early trailers look good, expecially the Toykio night club, but after reading the reviews, I have to say the characters sound completly unlikeable, and sorry for not being an emo, gothic or satanist, but I cannot play as characters who kill for absolutly no reason I can support, and play as characters I cannot understand.
This game deffinatly had potential, but they have to learn that no one wants to be a phycopath or a cold hearted killer for a whole game, it can be fun for a bit, but then it just gets plain old creepy.
However, you guys may like it, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Basically, it's not fun to kill innocents, so why the hell would you?

Ugh. Do your homework. Kane is a victim of circumstance. Lynch is the monster of this story...And he was never supposed to be well liked, or even someone your average person could relate to.

As far as labeling fans of a game like this as "emo, gothic or satanist"...Good gravy you're stupid. It sounds to me like you should hop on the 'ole bandwagon with Jack Thompson and start yelling about how violent video games are ruining america.

As far as "playing a cold hearted killer for a whole game", video games are historically full of them. Mario [ of super mario brothers fame ] killed all who opposed him my jumping on their heads. Sure, it was cute and silly back then, but if we applied current graphics to those older titles, you can bet they'd be just as disgusting as Kane and Lynch. Minus the guns. Link was a killer. As are Samus, Sam Fisher, and Crash Bandicoot.

Don't project your personal beliefs on the rest of the world by saying, "they have to learn that no one wants to be a phycopath or a cold hearted killer for a whole game". This makes you sound stupid, too. For most people, video games are the ultimate form of escapism. Some, if not most people out there like a genuine role reversal while playing a game. Since most people are not unmedicated schizophrenics prone to bouts of violent rage, games like this are appealing.

Just shut up. You've worked me into a tizzy.

the opinon seems to be divided with the reviews

some like Gamerspot and Gamer Tv say its a tad crap

but others like gametrailers and Gamefaqs say its very, very good

i'm not sure who to belive until i play the game for myself

Finished Kane & Lynch the other night, a few non-spoiler thoughts.

1 OK shooter, nothing revolutionary about game play.

2 Don`t be fooled by box art, graphics not that great. (Xbox 360)

3 By the third mission I wanted to shoot Lynch myself, and often did, as
when hiding behind some cover he has an irritating habit of getting in front of
you. This will piss him off, and later in the game he will not give you any ammo, touchy bitch.

4 Mucho adult language, F-bombs aplenty.

5 No in game saves. This becomes an issue if there is a cut-scene and then player gets wacked, game replays the cut-scene over, and over. Can skip vid
by pressing X but in places a pain in the ass.

6 Vary strange difficulty curve. Played on second of three difficulty levels,
get`n along nicely and bang it`s like impossible to do this mission.( this is where you want to gouge your eyes out if you see that friggen cut-scene again.) Went on line for a little help on this and found an army of players with the same problem.

OK a mini-spoiler

Sorry have not figured out how to do the spoiler blackout thing.

It`s mission 7 with the fucking construction truck, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
hint: there is no secret key to this, you just got to gut it out.

7 There are 2 possable endings , I found both rather unsatisfactory.
A little like BioShock , maybe thats just me.

All in all a decent renter, but not one for the ages.

Ok chill, if you want to go out killing people fine, but where I'm from, it's kinda of odd even in video games.
And Mario? Come on, he could of not killed them but make them dissapear for you know (Which should be perfectly reasonable with your reasoning), I mean, Pokemon could be violent according to you.
And actually, that is probably much more stupid than anything I have ever said, I mean, you have to agree that killing mushrooms and killing humans is a different thing, I mean, you kill fish right? Or at least bugs, but are you some freakish maniac? Hopefully not, killing humans, and cops, and basically innocents and those that defend the law, that are your own speacies, and oh whatever.
You can like your game as much as you like, and we can debate violence another time.
And I admitt, I don't know the whole story, but I roughly know it, since I haven't played the game.
I haven't played the game, so I base my opinions on word of the mouth and reviews, so they aren't realy my opinions.
But still, I stick to my line, this game had potential.

Stop talking out both sides of your mouth. This game was clearly violent from the very first teaser. How could it have had potential in your eyes?

And to answer your question, no, I do not kill bugs or fish. Killing fictional characters made from polygons does not bother me because they do not exist.

Pac-Man 'kills' ghosts, and even there it's unbelievably loosely defined, consiering they all just come back after a mo'.

Anyway, one of them (Kain or Lynch) has a skullet, and therefore is to be praised.

It's just a next-gen hitman game, apparently, and it was actually voted one of the most disappointing games of the year by Gamespot. Heh.

I've played and completed it and while it's not great, it's not as bad as people have been making it out to be after the whole GameSpot debacle.
The story is okay but the end left me disappointed. See spoiler at the bottom*. Also, weeks or months seem to go by between missions but there's no cut scenes to alert you to that fact.
On the subject of graphics, the graphics are fine. They're not the best but they're also not the worst. They're pretty typical 360 graphics.

To the people saying it's like Hitman, it's not like Hitman at all. There's no missions where you are given a target and have to make your way to the target through a relatively open area. All missions are 100% linear and you're not doing these missions for money.

*Me, being a nice guy, wanted to save Jenny but also didn't want to leave the men to die. So after picking the village choice having most of the men and Jenny die after going through the village and back again (which was very hard) made it all feel a bit pointless.
Plus, the helicopter ending is so uneventful. It's just a short cut scene with Kane and Jenny sitting in the helicopter and Jenny telling Kane that she hates him because he's leaving the other guys there to die. I couldn't help being annoyed, I expected her to be happy that she's safe, not pissed off that I'm not taking her into a gun fight that she wouldn't survive anyway.

I've played this game as I own it on ps3 and to be honest its not nothing special but its some thing to play, online play is not that godo to be honest but co-operative story line is quite good to play but yeh others have different opinions.

Same, I totally wasn't expecting her to be so pissed off with Kane and to have believed everything the brothers told her. Especially after I had spent so long getting to her.
