Reptilian Warriors
Jaaz was doing his normal, daily routine. Fetching the water from the lake for the village. The lake wasn't that far but he did have to cross the corn fields and through a small wood. Although it was his routine and his "Duty" as a Mudokon. He hated it. Why couldn't it be a punishment for convicts he always thought.
As he trudged along with the Urn he sensed something strange about today. It was a sort of bad feeling. The feeling that you get when you know someones watching you...with a bad intent. But he shrugged it off and just put it to his anger of the job.
Finally he came to the lake. It was quieter than usual, usually birds sang in the trees surrounding the lake and fish jumped out the water catching the flies that skimmed the surface. But today...no fish and no birds. He bent down with the Urn and dipped it in the water. The water flooded in and got heavier. He grunted as he lifted the Urn...the Urn was heavy and he grunted as he lifted it out of the water. He usually tried to get back as soon as he could, but this time he was too tired and wanted to relax for abit while he was near the lake. After all it was a nice day. He crouched down near the water and splashed some up in his face. It was refreshing to say the least. Having his hot skin cooled down. But something made him stop enjoying this moment. Something that made him turn puzzled. Something that made his eyes widen with fright and his skin shiver with fear. As he stared a creature of around 6-7ft stared back. Cluching onto the the branches of a small tree. The creatures yellow eyes pierced his skin like a thousand knives. A low snarl uttered from its slightly opened mouth, its lips pulled back to show a array of razor sharp teeth. Jaaz did not want to take any chances and he knew from experience that a creature with claws and sharp teeth was a carnivore. His eyes never left the creature as he slowly stood up. He noticed the creature was of a Lizard variety, it had green scales that covered its intire body. The scales on its back were darker than the ones on its stomach. The stomach scales were more yellowy than green. The creature put one foot on the soily ground. It had two toes and they had black sharp claws, which dug into the ground and left imprints in the soil. Jaaz gasped and realised if he was going to run, it had to be now. And he did, at top speed he ran, leaving the Urn behind near the lake. He crashed through the branches knocking vines and leaves out of the way he ran with fear in his heart.
Jaaz: "Help...Help me please!"
As he reached the open he screamed, he saw the town in the distance and waved his arms frantically as he approached.
Jaaz: "Carnivor...Help me, please help!!"
He turned his head to look over his shoulder and saw the creature watching him. It was crouched on all fours and slowly moving forwards towards him. He turned back around to make sure he did not trip. But as he ran towards the corn fields he realised he could hear panting behind him and the thuds of claws. He ran faster but realised the sounds were getting louder and what seemed like closer. Until...thud!
His body dropped to the ground and he rolled to a stop. He raised his head and saw the foot of the creature come down on his neck, pinning him. It bent down and looked at him, hissing and smelling him. Finally after smelling him he screeched, throwing its head back towards the sky it screamed. The scream was corse and scratchy and went through Jaaz's body like a knife through butter. But as the creature finished 2 more cries could be heard from the distance...and thats when he realised his village was in danger.
Jaaz opened his mouth to scream for help but all that came out was a short mutter. The giant Reptile looked down on him and growled. Before clenching its 3 toed hand into a fist and punching through his skull. Shattering it to pieces. The blood soaked through the dirt and the Lizard stood up on its hind legs and screamed once again. This time a scream of victory...
