I didn't mean to double-post, but I can't stand to keep people in suspense if I have a lot of free time. So, here it is.
Four years later, the incident was all but forgotten. Crelik wouldn't touch him with a sixty-foot pole. (He wouldn't even get that close, anyway) Grenhik moved him to Feeco Depot, where Ghirak, the very same Slig that had witnessed his hatching, volunteered to guard him. He was much nicer than Crelik. He never beat Wilfred, and would share information when he got it. One day, Wilfred asked, "Ghirak, why am I so different from the other Mudokons?" Ghirak responded, "You are a crossbreed." "I'm a hybrid?! I already know that one half of me is Mudokon. But, what's the other half?" Ghirak chuckled, then said, "It's a long story." "I don't mind. I'll even work while you're telling me." "Okay, here goes. The other half of your genes comes from a species of bird called Luna." At the word "Luna", an image materialized in Wilfred's mind. A white bird with white, almond shaped eyes that had armor around them. A tapered tail with a blue spike on either side. Long, blue, rectangular plates on its back. A long neck and hand like wings completed the image. Ghirak continued, "Lunas are nocturnal and live in the mountainous regions of Oddworld. They are very plentiful and multiply like rabbits. Does that explain it for you?" "Yes, but how was I able to sense that Crelik was about to beat me? And, when you said 'Luna', why did an image form, even though I knew nothing about them?" Ghirak thought for a moment, then said, "Oh, I almost forgot! Lunas have psychic abilities. You must have inherited them." Just then, Ghirak was called to a meeting. "I'll see you later, Wilfred." Wilfred thought nothing of it and continued polishing. Then, he sensed concern and worry. He searched further, and found out that it was Ghirak. Ghirak came running back a few minutes later, and said, "Wilfred! We have to get out of here! The Glukkons have decided to start using Mudokons as a food source! Come with me!" Wilfred got up, and ran after Ghirak. In a hallway, two Sligs caught them. The Sligs tied them up in a room with several pedestals. Grenhik was standing on one of them. He hopped down as one Slig pulled out a whip. "Start with the Mudokon." Grenhik told the Slig. In the instant that the Slig pulled back the whip, Wilfred searched Grenhik's mind. As the whip whizzed through the air, Wilfred focused on it, and his eyes glowed. The whip suddenly curved as if it had a mind of its own. It hit Grenhik directly on top of his brain lobe. Grenhik screamed in pain and collapsed. Both Sligs turned and ran as fast as they could in the opposite direction. Wilfred's eyes glowed again, and the ropes that bound them untied themselves. Both of them started running. They were almost at the door, and they had several Sligs chasing them. The door was closing fast. "Wilfred," Ghirak yelled, "roll!" "But, what about you?" "I'll hold them off! You just get out of here!" Wilfred folded his back plates down and rolled out the door. As it was closing, Wilfred heard a gunshot, and Ghirak screaming. He ran away from the factory as fast as he could, tears streaming down his face.
When Wilfred had stopped crying, he found he was in a forest. There were many trees and bushes around, and at least half of them had fruit growing. Wilfred knew he had many things to do: Build a shelter, find a good food source, survive, perfect his psychic skills, and make friends. The good thing was: He had the rest of his life to do it.
The end (for now)
How did you like this one? I'm planning on a plot where four seperate storylines become one. (grumbles) Oh, great Now I have to think up another one.
