Donnie Darko

HOLY. SHIT.

I just watched a movie called "Donnie Darko" for the first time today. It was fucking amazing. Funny, smart, intriguing, confusing, and immensly deep. I can't even begin to tell you about this movie becuase I don't know how to. All I can say is, SEE THIS MOVIE.

You can find out more about it at donniedarko.com

I'm still recovering my the massive mental overload this movie has given me. Watch it and enjoy.

Shouldn't this post about a movie be in a thread about... movies?

Yes, indeed. I saw it about three years ago, in the cinema... Much better on the big screen, mind you. I've got the double disc special edition now

I saw it, too. Kind of an interesting movie. There are parts in it which are not clear in the first time, and that makes it better.

Hitting the mirror with the kitchen knife... nice part.

Once you read the explanations, it becomes much less good.

Yeah, if you can think a lot about the movie after watching it, it's loads better. The story takes many twists, and you can hardly keep up with it.

It is indeed a great film, a friend of mine has it on DVD and we've watched it a few times. when it ends it leaves you a lot to think about.

It's not the mirror he's hitting, it's the barrier/forcefield between him and Frank.

At least I think it's the barrier, I havn't seen it in a few months so I could be wrong
.

I think it's both. Literally it's a mirror, metaphorically it's a barrier of some kind. Deep. O.o

I watched it a few months ago. Pretty good. I don't think it was absolutely amazing or anything, but pretty good. It definitely had some intriguing qualities.

Is it just me, or does the style of many of the scenes seem very Requiem for a Dream-ish? I'm not sure which movie came out first. I remember once doing some sort of search on the movie and read that the directors know each other pretty well... or something.

I didn't like it. I thought Jake Gyllenhaal's performance sucked, well, that is if you can call it a performance.

See, that's what I mean. Some things are not obvious, and people can discuss it further. That's why it's interesting.

Great movie. I saw it the first time about three years ago. I have the original and the directors cut on dvd.
