World of Warcraft

I've had WoW for a few months now, and seeing as it has recently been released in Europe, I was wondering if anyone had picked it up.

World of Warcraft is a really awesome MMORPG (much better than Everquest) that takes place in Azeroth, the world that the Warcraft games take place on. For those unfamiliar with Warcraft, the time era that it takes place in is Steampunk. Steampunk is a medieval theme (dragons, castles, orcs, elves, ect.), but technilogical advancements have happened way before they actually happened in real life (lazers, robots, helicopters).

www.worldofwarcraft.com

First, you pick a realm, each has one of 3 type of rules (PvE, which lets you kill monsters and gather quests without the nuisence of being ganked by higher levels of the opposing faction, PvP lets you quest and kill monsters with the constant threat of being ambushed by players of the opposing faction, and RP, which obviously, lets you RP)

WoW lets you pick one of 8 different races, 4 on each faction (Alliance & Horde), which are at war with each other. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/races/

Once you pick a race, you pick one of 9 classes.

Classes being: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, & Warrior. Each class has it's own unique abilities, spells, and stat bonuses. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/

Then you get to customize your character (sex, hair, ect.)

Once all of that is done, the game kicks off.

Along the way, you can pick up professions, which alow you to gather materials and makes items for a profit. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/professions/

The Audio work is amazing, as are the visuals. WoW still even manages to keep Warcraft style humor.

Being an MMORPG, though, does mean it has a monthly fee of $15.

All fees aside, WoW is an amazing game, and any MMORPG fans out there should definatly pick it up (if you can afford the fee, of course).

World of Warcraft intro cinematic- showing off the amazing visuals this game has: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/trailer/

TIP: WHEN CHOOSING A REALM, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO PICK ONE THAT HAS LOW TO MEDIUM POPULATION (to avoid massive lag and game crashes.... and waiting in Queue)

I am a level 28 Undead Warlock on the Khadgar realm. Recent pics of me:

PLEASE NOT THAT MY COMPUTER IS AS CRAPPY AS THEY GET- THAT MEANS THE VISUALS HAVE TO BE TONNED DOWN FOR ME, OR ELSE i GET LAGS AND CRASHES LIKE NO TOMARROW. THESE GRAPHICS I HAVE SHOWED YOU ARE IN NO WAY THE MAXIMUM FORCE THIS GAME CAN PUMP OUT.

please let me know if any of you have or plan on getting this awesome game.

I saw the trailer to this on TV a few weeks ago and it looked amazing! As soon as my Robosapien sells on eBay, I should have enough money to get it. Once I get it, hopefully my computer will be able to handle it.

On a side note, if anyone wants to bid on my Robosapien just PM me and I'll give you the link.

WoW = awesome game. I love it.

At first I didn't think I'd be into it but it's SO addictive, and a ton of fun to play.

The only thing I would have a problem with on that list would be the 4gb file size. My computer only comes with 12GB as standard and most of it is already used up.
Looks like I'm going to have to go out and buy more memory.

Question

Ive looked at the site for WoW and it looks really, really good i have a question about it, Say if i was a gnome, could my character visit other races realms? like the Elf city? you know, its that place where the elves start, or even like go look in yhe hordes starting citys. Where they start? even if your one fo the alliance.

EDIT: Oh, and can you ride other races mounts? and my final question is, can only certain races ride certain things because on the screenshots with them eagle things in. It only shows elves riding them, so can gnomes ride them? or dwarves?

Oh wait lol, one more (i hope) Do the mounts get bigger? or can you get bigger ones, or do they just stay the same size?

Now i have another one, can the character you play as swim? because i know the wizards can change into some sort of aquatic life-form, so can anything else swim? or do they just die when they get in the water? Oh and can they swim underwater if they can swim and are not mages in the form of that seal type thing. Dammit i have another question (i have too many) can you go into battle while on a mount because gnomes must be pretty slow runners compared to taurens, Because like if youre going into a war youll be att he back and everyone will be killed by the time your there.

because they are of the same faction, you may enter/ play around the Elven/ Human/ Dwarven cities as a Gnome. you can go into Horde (orc, troll, undead, and tauren) territory, but if you enter a city or town of the opposite faction, guards will make quick work of you. Complete freedom... sort of....

In order to ride other races mounts, you must reach Exhaulted status with their city. this is currently impossible, not implemented in the game. if it were possibly, it would be extremely difficult, as it requires hours of questing.

List of mounts:

Human: Horse
Gnome: Mechano Strider (robotic ostrich lol)
Elf: Nightsaber (tiger)
Dwarf: Ram
Tauren: Kodo (giant lizard)
Orc: Wolf
Undead: Skeletal Horse
Troll: Velociraptor (uber cool)
and the Warlock class can summon a special mount when the appropriate level is reached. It is a Felsteed, wich is a horse.... but on fire....

The Eagle (griffons) that you saw was a "taxi". Throughout different towns & cities, you will find flight paths, which will allow you to quickly travel from town to town. Again, each race has it's different "taxi", but any race of the same faction can ride it, regardless if they have Exhaulted status or not. Taxies:

Human: Griffin (the Eagle thing you saw)
Dwarf: Griffin
Gnome: Griffin
Elf: Hippogryph (half raven, half deer creature)
Tauren: Wyvern (lion/scorpian/some flying creature creature)
Orc: Wyvern
Troll: Wyvern
Undead: Vampire Bat

:

Well, no. I suppose when Exhaulted comes into play, the other races mounts will change appropriatly to your character (Gnomes' would become smaller.)

NOTE: Tauren cannot ride any other mount other than a Kodo, regardless of Exhaulted or not. this is because Kodos are the only creatures who can withstand the massive weight of the Tauren.

However, they do "change". When you reach level 60, you can get an Epic mount. This is faster and looks different than normal mounts.

:
Now i have another one, can the character you play as swim? because i know the wizards can change into some sort of aquatic life-form, so can anything else swim? or do they just die when they get in the water? Oh and can they swim underwater if they can swim and are not mages in the form of that seal type thing. Actually, everyone runs the same speed. The only exception is if they have a spell or potion that increases their run speed.

Druids can turn into Sea Lions eventually, which gives them either more breath, or underwater breathing, I'm not sure. Any other race and class can easily go under water. There are even some underwater sunken ruin quests. The only thing that you have to watch out for is your breath. If you run out, you obviously die. There are some items and spells that give you endless breath, though. Undead, being dead and all, get three times the normal breath meter. Warlocks (such as I) can get a spell that gives them unlimited under water breath. There are many possibilities.

ALSO! If you swim too far out, you will reach deap water. When you do this, you will become fatigued and eventually die, regardless if you have infinite breath or not.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

Nah, mines is way too crap. I had problems with Warcraft 3. Like when I clicked on a spot for the guy to go there, the guys would dissapear and all you could see is their capes and swords. And if there was a water elemental, the guys were capes + swords permenently.

Oh, sounds like you've got an Ugtel Fosselon processor. Yeah that's probably worth chucking out the window if it does that to Warcraft 3.

<3 Goblin Shredder death animation....

.... and the maniacle grin on the pilot......

Battle Begins:

A fierce battle it is....

Anyway, the Shredder dies. Death Animation is described here:

Shredder malfunctions. Goblin uses the ejector seat as a last ditch effort. Ejector seath is apparently still in it's testing stages. Hilarity ensues....

Time to bump - because I have the game.

My brother brought it the other day, and I'm playing as a level 14 Dwarf Hunter with a level 14 Snow Wolf pet on the Silvermoon realm.
Very, very good game. Suprisingly little lag, if ever, with truely fantastic visuals. Gotta love Blizzard's art. And the utter ease of play. And the awesome GUI.
