Oddworld I got my LIMITED EDITION Art Book!!!

I guess it's an advantage of living in Australia is that you get your art books first all of the time! Mine arrived today. Actually it's a Sunday, but I guess there is post today because of Christmas coming.

Not much words to describe it actually... other than amazing. There's something special about having a nice limited edtion version. I'm sure others will be getting theirs very soon also. Maybe others who live in Melbourne/Australia might have got theirs today as well.

Just in time for Christmas too! Meaning they got the books shipped before January, like they had estimated. Great news for all of those who bought them as Christmas presents. Though I'll be opening mine before hand!

Wow! That's great! Now I'm even more eager to get mine! But it could take more than two weeks to arrive.....it could even take one month to arrive for me due to being in the United States. Oh well, at least I'll be getting it sometime!

It is all in Australian dollars, so foreigners are more likely to get the same thing for less than us Australians. Of course, if you live in a foreign country, you use that currency, and have it converted online

Alas, nothing about Skillya

I got my book today! I am so happy. After carefully opening the box and removing the plastic, I put on my gloves(I'm serious), sat down, and immersed myself in the book for a few hours. The book is fantastic and exceeded my expectations, which were very very high. I am so pleased with it.

I'll wait till Border's has it. Then I'll walk in, and just look at the book from its shelf.

But then again you have to show support to a company you like...

The situation is even worse for traditional book distribution into shops like Borders or Barnes and Noble. The publisher has to pay for everything and discount books by 70% to supply distributors. And you don't get paid for 4 months or more! Even then the books stores won't promote new books - it's up to the publisher to pay for all the promotions. We are looking at every distribution channel, but we won't compromise quality just to sell more books. Right now, we can put a lot of effort (and cost) into producing the highest quality books ever made by supplying them directly to readers all over the world. As we grow and our volumes get bigger we will start to distribute our books through more traditional channels. Some books, like the Limited Editions, are collector's items and will only ever be sold directly. We even sell the Limited Edition books by individual number!
Don't hold your breath Dualist, it's not coming to shops.

Actually, they will appear in bookstores. However, the number of bookstores is limited, as they are strict resellers exclusive to Ballistic Publishing. There are quite a few located around the world, and you can locate them yourself by visiting: http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/resellers

Yo I received mine last week, I bought the soft cover edition that costs 70$ AUS = 40€, because my bank account is quite dry (haha ^^ ).
I'm so happy, they did an amazing work, I'm not disappointed, because I thought that it would be a little art book with only pictures and no comments.
And finally : 250 pages, so many never viewed pictures and comments, but it's written in english - a good work to perfect his knowledge héhé .

To those who have not already bought this marvel : go buy iiiit !

I was wondering that too, but then, there are only two stores for the whole of Australia, where Ballistic is based. And even then, the two stores are in entirely different states as well.

Don't worry scrabinator, the wait is worth it. And it will surely make you more excited to open it

Happy Yay! I got my book! Wohooo!!!

*takes deep breath*

Two days ago a little ticket arrived in the post with my initials on it and saying that there was a 'packet' for this person so my Mam and I rushed down to get this mysterious packet but we doubted that it was for me because my brother and I have the same initials but the man at the post office said we had to come and pick it up tomorrow so we went home and the next day we went back after school and the man took ages to find it and we were worried it was lost but he came back and the box said 'Ballistic' and I huged it and jumped up and down and yelled 'IT'S HERE!!!' and the man and a lady who had just come in the door laughed and I don't blame them but when we got home I couldn't open it because I hadn't had lunch so I had to eat and I didn't want to risk getting it dirty so I ate my lunch and washed my hands and opened it and it is BRILLIANT!

*gasps for breath*

Phew...had to say that.

Anyway, The Book is wonderful, very inspiring, full of art and some funny stories; the 'Monkfish' scenario made me chuckle, and that's not easy. The last paragraph in Sherry's foreword made me smile and I had a strange vision of certain forumers jumping up and down and shouting. You know who you are
