unlikely friend redone
since the fourm being down seems to have deleted my thread heres the first two chapters.
the sound of slogs barking alerted the dark green mudokon.
" crap" he grumbled and got up from his sitting place. as he leaned over and grabbed an sharp stick to use as a weapon there was the movement of a smaller figure behind him.
" daddy?" it whimpered.
" it's ok honey, probably just some slogs that got loose from their owners. just in case I want you to stay out of sight, ok?"
the smaller figure paused before answering. " will you be back soon?"
the mudokon gave a fatherly smile. " I’ll come back, I promise."
sasitifed the smaller figure nodded and nestled into the bushes to hide. giving one more look to the others hiding spot he leapt to a tree branch towards the direction of the slogs barks.
" barky! mr.woof! there you are!" the smaller slig exclaimed as he embraced the two run away slogs. they enthusasitly returned his hugs with licks on his snout.
" you are such a goober, you know that?" the larger slig mumbled, watching his friend in disgust.
" your just jealous that they like me better then you, tren."
" yeah right yarbo." tren snorted. " as if I cared less about those yappy little chunks of flesh think of me."
" are you two quite done collecting those little monsters." snarled another slig, starting to come out of the foliage.
tren and yarbo gulped and went wide eyed.
" y-y-yes general xaiver sir. we've retrieved the slogs that got loose."
"good. now see that you don't loose them again of you will find yourself shot one face tenctle each." xaiver said cooly before turning back to the foliage. the sudden loud yelp from one of the slogs made all three turn. the slog that yarbo had dubbed "barky" laid on the ground, a sharped stick as a crude spear stuck through him.
" mr.barky!" yarbo cried.
" never mind the damn slog!" tren shouted as he unhostlerd his gun from his back. " there’s something here!"
for the next few minutes the only noises were that of mr.woof snarling and the sligs breathing. they stood close to each other, studying the foliage around them. xaiver hissed as his eyes shifted bak and forth angerly. he had things to do and did not want to be bothered with this.
"maybe it's..."
the last of yarbos started sentence ended in a hideous squeal as another crude spear found its way into his face.
" yarbo!" tren cried in shock.
xaiver ignored the grizzly scene and aimed his gun at the trees over them. " there it is! shoot!"
the sound of xaiver yelling and shooting off his gun broke tren out of his shock and he joined with xaiver at shooting at the figure. the figure moved quickly amongst the branches to avoid the fire. it suddenly ran out of branches and leaped out of the tree into the moonlight.
a dark green mudokon faced the figures. his feathers that were as most mudokons tightly braided were a vivid red, contrasting agasint his slate gray eyes. the mudokon snarled at them, the crescent shape scar around his right eye scrunched. the look frightened the remaining slog who whimpered and hid in the foliage.
tren stepped back in fear. " th..th..thats ben the death eye! don't look into his eyes sir!"
Ben smiled as he abruptly met eyes with tren. " am I that famous? I’m honored. your right though, you shouldn't look into my eyes."
tren didn't answer. his eyes were wide, almost trance like.
"tren?" xaiver said, poking tren. no reaction. ben smiled again, this time a feral, almost fierce smile.
" getting kind of hot out here, isn't it? in fact, I’d say one could burn up out here."
" what the hell are you talking about muddie? it's not even spring yet!" xaiver snapped at ben, starting to think that perhaps the mudokon was insane.
tren suddenly snapped out of his trance and begin to pant.
" it's...so hot. oh odd! I’m burning up! help me!" tren begin to frail frantically.
xaiver blinked in surprize. it took him only a few seconds to remember the tales about ben the death eye. the mudokon could supposeinly play with your brain ounce he locked his eyes with yours. any suggestion of his would become real to the victim. the effects were usually temporary but could be incredibly painful while they lasted.
ben chuckled at his handiwork. no matter how many times he did this it was always amusing. if using it too often didn't tire him out he would do this more often. he remembered about the remaining slig when something lashed out and hit him hard In the face, sending him stumbling back.
" shit! that hurt!" ben wiped the blood now trickleing from the bottom of his mouth and looked at his attacker. waving high over xaivers head, unnoticed in the dark earlier was a long metallic tail. the moonlight flashed on it's silver and gold paneling and the three sharp prongs at the end of it. it looked deadly, almost like a scorpions tail.
" nice toy." ben remarked as he wiped off more blood. " where did you get it?"
" thats not really any of your business mudokon." xaiver said cooly as he made the tail prongs touch, makeing an electric ball. xaiver quickly shot out the electric ball, grazing bens shoulder. ben grit his teeth in pain and stepped back as xaivers face took on a cruel look.
" you'll see that unlike my friends here I don't mess about." xaiver lifted his tai land lashed out, trying to hit ben again. ben quickly ducked and leaped at xaiver. ben grabbed onto a face tentacle and kicked for all it was worth. xaiver grunted and punched ben. soon the two were caught in a heap, rolling on the Forrest floor. they threatened and cursed each other, randomly punching and kicking. they rolled about so much they soon reached the small cliff face standing over the nearby river rapids.
" why don't you give it up mudokon?" xaiver hissed. " if you do I might not kill you."
" up yours." ben snarled back. " I’d rather die then let you take me as a slave." ben rolled again and with a kick of the legs sent xaiver off the edge of the cliff face, xaiver screaming in rage as he went.
" finely" ben panted and started up into a crouch. ben was still trying to catch his breath when xaivers tail came shooting from over the edge and wrapped around bens ankle. ben let out a sharp cry as he was pulled from the ground and smashed agasint the opposite cliff wall. there was a loud crack and ben eyes rolled into the back of it, seemingly dead. xaiver sneered and dropped ben into the river.
" I warned you." xaiver said with a smirked. he used his tail to grab a tree over him and pull himself from the cliff side branches that had caught him. after he got himself back together he got up and located tren who was laying on the ground, recovering. xaiver gave him a sharp kick.
" get up wuss. he's gone."
" y-y-you killed ben the death eye?" tren said in awe.
" death eye my metal ass. he was easy to get rid of. not my faultt you were dumb enough to..." xaiver stopped as the remaining slog's barking. " oh NOW what!" xaiver angerly swaggered towards the barking. ounce close he noticed the slog had something small trapped agasint a tree.
" move over mutt, let me see." xaiver grumbled and moved the slog out of the way to get a better look. his eyes widened suddenly in surprize. shivering before him was a pink lavender mudokon child.
a female mudokon.
chapter 2
" Ali! wake up before the guards come!"
The now grown lavender female mudokon opened one eye as an older gray colored mudokon shook her.
" aww jud, five more minutes."
" the bell for work already rung five minutes ago. now get up. do you want to get in trouble again?"
Ali merely groaned and turned over.
" wake me when I’m in trouble."
jud sighed. getting Ali up was always a challenge. luckily he knew what to do at this point.
" Ali, get up now." jud said. " or I’ll tell matterson the real reason why the buzzsaw came loose."
Ali grumbled and sat up. the thought of the gray glukkon boss getting mad at her again was enough to rouse her.
" thats dirty pool jud." she said.
" only doing what has to be done. now lets hurry before the sligs notice we're not working."
the two mudokons moved quickly from the cellblock and into the lumberyard. being late the workers were already in full swing. it seemed to be the two mudokons lucky day though as they managed to get to working line without the sligs seeing them.
" did you hear about Larry?" cal, a young mudokon said to Ali as she joined the line.
" no. what about Larry?" she asked.
" I heard he tried to escape last night." cal said.
" no way. what did they do to him when they caught him?" Ali said as she picked up a small bark peeler.
" well,i don't really know but I haven't seen him since last night." cal said with a worried tone. " I don't think he's coming back."
Ali was silent. it was easy to get cals meaning.
" ALI!" a voice suddenly screamed.
" uh oh." cal murmured and scrambled away from Ali.
" I didn't do it!" Ali instantly said, not even turning. she didn't need to turn to recognize the angry voice.
matterson.
the glukkon towered over her, his eyes set in an glare. Ali turned and smiled innocently.
" I uh,mean, good morning mr.matterson. things are going well I trust?"
jud shook his head at alis cheesy smile.
" believe it or not your not in trouble today Ali." matterson said. " I actually have someone here who wishes to see you."
"me?" Ali said surprised. after all, who would come just to see a mudokon slave. matterson moved aside, letting a dark purple vykker by. Ali instantly got chills. though vykkers in general gave her the creeps there was something about this one that got to her, despite her fear she smiled and greeted the vykker.
" um.. hi?"
the vykker merely smiled back, sending another chill down Ali's back.
" yes, thats her all right. no mistake about it." the vykker said. " I’ll be taking her now."
" yes mr. waneseny." matterson said to the vykker.
" take me?" Ali yelped. " take me where?"
" why, back to my labs my dear. "
Alis eyes widened at the word " labs". she had heard of vykkers tinkering around with innocent mudokons. it didn't take much thinking to know what would happen to her if she ended up there.already she was backing up,ready to run. she found herself bumping into two sligs that had slipped up behind her during the conversation. Ali's heart began to beat fast as the two sligs grabbed hold of her arms.
" now now, can't have you running off ,can we?" matterson said.
Ali looked frightened now, as did jud as he watched the scene helplessly.
" look, I think you probably have the wrong mudokon." Ali said, attempted to weasel her way out of trouble.
" I doubt that very much. you’re the only female mudokon here." waneseny said.
Ali inwardly cursed. being female had signaled her out before. now this time this signaling out could mean her life.
" well, shes all yours now.. good luck." matterson said.
waneseny nodded and the two sligs began to drag Ali off.
it was then jud had enough. he finely decided he had to act. moving quickly he shot out his leg and tripped the sligs holding Ali. the sligs of course not expecting jud to tripped them tripped over the leg and fell, letting go of Ali in the process.
" ALI! RUN!" jud yelled.
Ali didn't need a second cue. she was off like a shot out of the lumberyard.
" don't just lay there!" waneseny raged. " stop her!"
the sligs grumbled and got to their feet and after Ali. matterson turned on jud.
" you will be dealt with later!"
jud's face showed no emotion. at the moment he was more concerned about Ali and wether she'd get away.
chapter three comeing up in a jiff.
