Most users ever online was 448, 02-09-2005 at 05:47 PM.

What`s up with this. Are there phantom members lurking about the forums,
who`s identities are forever cloaked in mystery?
Looks to me like there three members online, who the hell are the other two?

They probably have the status set to invisible, so that they cannot be seen as online.

Or there's these things called Spiders..they're search engine spiders. They're not actual users. Sometimes you will get 50 - 100 of them on a board. Very frustrating.

That's where the 400-odd users online at once comes from, but Smell's more than likely right about the missing two members. Some people value their anonymity for various reasons.

Yah, just to confirm the unconfirmed information. The two members not showing are invisible. Spiders are counted as guests, and the 448 online at once was the result of Google flipping head over heels when we activated the Archive for the first time.

It only keeps one record, and even the previous records were high from Spider activity. If I recall though, it was around 50ish members that were ever truly online at once.

Kind of makes it misleading, but it makes it look like we were really popular at one time.

Although that number is more recent from this year. I guess we got majorly hit by the spiders more than once, as I remember it happening once before but not quite that large of a number.
