Material Possessions:

Show me some of your most prized [material] possessions.

If you can't post a picture, go into detail.

I want to know what it is, why it's great, and why you just can't seem to live without it [them].

Here are a few of mine:

2000 Maniacs! One of my favorite B-movies and possessions. I watch it atleast three times a month and I just can't get enough of it. It's great because it's a low budget 60's horror movie, and I can't live without it because it's one of the few things in life than can make me laugh on a regular basis.

The Hoopty: It gets me where I need to go and can take anything I throw at it. It's great because it's fast and has a killer sound system; I can't live without it because I'm too cool to be a pedestrian.

Harry and Bossley: My two little hairless rat boys truly keep me sane. They're great because they're super intelligent, they're always happy to see me, they're litter trained and they always manage to cheer me up. I couldn't live without them because I'm horribly attached.

What about you?

I don't have a digital camera, so no pictures, sadly.

My most prized possessions include:
What few comics I own
Probably a lot of my clothing
Random sentimental gifts, letters, and memorabilia
My favorite cat, Stubby (He has no tail, and is one of the twelve cats living at my grandparents' house.)
And many items from my childhood (stuffed animals, books, Disney movies, etc.)

My iPod was one of them, but dear god I'm stupid... I've lost it.

There aren't really any things I can't live without, now that I think about it, because I don't own so much. All the computers are nice, but I can do without them if I had to. The same goes for the PSX and the TV. Some of my clothes and most of my books are pretty important to me. My guitar, probably. I never play it anymore, but it has some value to me. Are pets really material possessions? If they are, then I guess they're my most prized ones. Yes.

My Zappa albums. Without them I would shoot myself. And possibly my guitar. And my books, though I don't read as much as I used to. Probably this computer, also (because I need porn).

I'd say clothes. For without clothes, I am naked, which can have negative effects.
I don't rely or worship any of my stuff. When the PS2, computer and guitar all broke at once I discovered that I can do without most of my junk.

My camcorder I got from my generous gran. It means the world to me ^_^
Now me and Amy can make that movie we've been writing.

And the laptop.

My iMac/Scanner/Printer/Wacom Tablet: I use this for all my art "work" that needs to be edited with a computer. The Mac lets me see the tiny details in my stuff that I can't see on my family's Windows PC. Plus, it's just nice to have a computer of my own.

My "Xbox-Ready" TV, cheap Surround Sound system, and Xbox: What can I say? Gaming rocks with spooky cool surround sound.

My Game/Movie/Anime collection: These are my pride and joy. When I'm bored, I can use any of these to pass hour upon meaningless hour. I'm a bit of a collectionist as well...

Before anyone says anything about me being spoiled, the only thing that I didn't buy myself or helped pay for is the Printer/Scanner and a couple movies.

I mean, this is the only stuff I spend my money on (not counting Amber, naturally)!

Wow, Luke, your computer desk is so... so... neat. Both in terms in immenseness, naturally, but also tidiness. I can't see my scanner for piles of schoolwork: literally, huge great piles of it. I don't know what's in them. Probably important stuff. I've got a Monopoly set on here, no idea why. My computer also doesn't have a case. There are exposed wires and everything.

But I'm changing the topic into something it's not.

I don't really know that I have any physical items I could not do without for sheer loved-ness, but I guess there are a couple or three things that I love dearly.

There's my Oddworld collection, comprising shirts, books, games, soundtracks, stickers, badges, letters, posters, cards and fanart (my own, which I haven't got around to wiping off the face of the planet yet). All in all that's a lot of rare and much-loved material.

My computer has to come next, but only because I can't think of anything else. It's a pile of bunkum and balderdash, but it gets me through all sorts. I guess more than material objects I love my music, video and picture collections, most of which end up stored on this machine. I have an iPod, too, which is damn nifty, but I can't use it.

No, I definitely prefer friends and values to possessions. “Things” suck.

Niiiice. How big's the TV? Mine's about 72 centimeters. I love it, no Halo on teensy weensy screens, when split-screening!

Hehehe... thanks, Max. I'm pretty obsessive-compulsive, so stuff gets cleaned up REALLY fast if it's an eyesore.

Eee... not too sure. It's not terribly huge, actually. I don't know... 20 something inches... by something less then 20 inches, I'd say. Not quite sure what that would be in centimeters. I'm so bad with measurements.

Just working. I have a low-paying (but easy) job renting movies to people. It pays about $5.75 an hour (which is atrocious, but better than nothing). I work three days a week and come out with about $100 after taxes. Half of it goes to car insurance and I'm left with about $50 a week, which adds up over time.

Like I said, electronic entertainment stuff is all I spend my money on besides Amber. Car? Pchh... like I care about my piece of shit used Saturn.

Of course, it wouldn't be possible for me to buy any of this if my parents weren't nice enough to provide food, shelter, and clothing for me. Don't think for a second that I'm not grateful for that.

Wow, and to think that I used to complain about minimum wage here in California.

Why, is it higher there or something?

Damnit... I can never tell when you're being sarcastic.

EDIT: I blame the internet for my ignorance. Regardless, I'm going to assume that was a sarcastic quip and inform everyone that minimum wage is $5.15 in Tennessee, because I know you all care so much. I've received a whopping two raises in my +/- year and a half of servitude in Ingles video department. Started at $5.40, got a 10 cent and a 25 cent raise. Go me!

Minimum wage is $6.75 here although it will soon be $7.25.

Then again California has a rediculous sales tax and the cost of living is fairly expensive so I guess it makes sense.

DI I just realized you look like some sort of anime guy. Or something of the sort. Like if they turned the movie Hackers into anime then back into live-action, you might be one of the stars. I dunno...

I scoff at material possessions. I don't know why exactly. I've just recently started hating, y'know, stuff. It's like . . . the material is immaterial. As somebody once said somewhere (I think, or maybe I just made it up): "You can't take it with you."

But in practice, I couldn't live without my PC, my Xbox with an iridescent Atari sticker slapped roguishly at an angle upon its case, Halo 2 (collector's edition), and uh, well, books and CDs. The most important of those two categories being The River Why and The Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack, respectively.
