Happy I rescued 457 muds in AE!

I managed to rescue 457 muds in AE by using a trick that I have known for some time but only recently have tried putting into action. Heres how I did it:
When you get to the the end area (where the glukkons are) of the Slig Barraks, BoneWerkz or Feeco. Depot, possess the glukkon and play through the level like normal. When you get to the phone, say hi to it and then say "Do it!" Straight after you say "Do it" depossess the glukkon before the cut-scene with the slig appears. The cut-scene won't appear and you will go back to Abe, but gas won't come down and kill you or anything. Leave the Slig Barraks or BoneWerkz etc. and get back to the main lobby of FeeCo. Depot. The area you have just visited will still be unlocked, go back in and any mudokons that you have rescued or killed will be back there. You can use this trick as many times as you like and keep returning to the area to rescue (or kill) mudokons. I played through the slig barraks about four times and finished the game with 457 muds! When you finish, it just comes up with the message you get if you rescue all 300 muds...

That's absolutely crazy! But it sounds interesting, so I might just try it.

Got any screenshots of this in action? Perhaps an employee status board?

I guess the easiest method would be to use a digital camera, and take a photo. Otherwise it'd be harder, even if you have the PC version.

Sorry, don't have a digital camera - but try the trick yourself and you will see.
And there's no simple way to take a screenshot by using the PC version?

Yes, just press the 'printscreen' button (By the 'scroll-lock' button), then go into Microsoft Paint (or a Mac equivilant, depending on your computer) and hit 'Shift+V'.

Isn't rescuing 457 Muds in AE impossible? There's not that many in the game!

It's not impossible: it's possible through the above method. It sounds groovy. The other way I've heard is that you can activate invincibility and re-do the FeeCo Depot Executive Offices over and over, but that requires cheating.

Doing that then, it would mean that you only have to do the first one a few times to get over 300 hundred, then have fun by killing everyone else in the game, then still get the good ending and having the pictures come up at the end.

EDIT. That means that now we're gonna have competitions to see who can rescue the most.

It does raise many questions though. Like we don't know what the status board would come up with if you rescued over 999 - It could just sit on 999 or reset itself or anything! Or what ending do you get if you rescue over 300 and kill over 300 too?

I'm assuming there is a better ending when you rescue them all. I'm guessing the board will show just 300. I'll have to try that, nice find mate

EDIT: I dug it up, for people who play on PC, the save files are avaliale from several websites.

300 Dead --> All mudokons killed!!! Note that you can't get this
ending normally (you need to save some mudokons to
make your way through the game). Slightly different
to "bad end" (300 mudokons killed).

Save all --> All mudokons saved. The game shows you some pictures
not included in the "good end" (300 mudokons saved).

Bad ending --> You didn't save enough mudokons. Sorry, you will pay
this crime (140 mudokons saved).

Good ending --> Congratulations! You saved most of your friends!
Your quest has ended happily (241 mudokons saved).

And we thought we knew everything about AE, even though it's older game. I going to try it out someday.

I have 2 games open at the moment named "Save" and "Kill". The glitch comes in usefull for both slots as I plan to repeat Boneworks on each game. That way I can get my kill up to 300 and it won't matter about the ones I HAD to rescue. In the "Save" game, I know for sure that my rescue total will be above 300.

Heck who cares about cheating, I've done the game loads of times anyway

Heh, funny glitch.

I can't imagine how long it will take to get to 999 muds but my guess is that it will clock over to 100 (ie show the first three digits rather than the last three). So you will have to save ten more to increment to 101.

Thats really only an educated guess. In reality anything could happen.
