Darn this... this... weather!

Yeah, this is just a gripe with Britain at the moment.
Basically, the weather here is never, ever good. I havn't seen the precious sun since the summer, and it's starting to get on my nerves. You leave what you think is a dull dark building with central heating on, into the peak of the day which is exactly the same! Except of course, its bloody well freezing cold; though naturally, it doesn't snow. It just freezes us over.

The past few weeks have all had terrible weather. You see England in movies, with the fog blocking out everything outside of a ten metre radius. This isn't an inaccurate stereotype - it's actually true!

Now, this weather we get every Spring, Autumn and Winter wouldn't be so bad if it actually snowed! But no, the air is just goddamned icy cold, though sometimes it does like to tip it down with rain on us. Never snow though.

In fact, I don't know if England has ever had a white Christmas! And we want one soooo much. ****ing country. Well, East Anglia, because apparently some places in the North had about a milimetre of snow this Christmas morn.
Here's an example. On Thursday, I decided to make this thread, but I thought I would first take some photos.
Here is where the sun should be at the peak of the day on Thursday afternoon.

Yay. Overcast.
Oh, and here's Christmas Eve. Where it should be, by rights (!!), tipping it down with snow.

Yay. Overcast.
Oh, and here's Christmas Day. Where it should be, by rights (!!), a beatiful clear sky, with the sun shining, with that house-top you can barely see covered in bright white snow.

This non-sun weather for three-quarters of the year just does nothing for all those people trying to get a tan.
Anyway, enough of this stupid ranting, I'm sure other places have even more miserable weather. Let's turn this into another Christmas thread wiiiith, Did you have a white Christmas? I'm sure they're overrated.

How deppresing Yeah, weather in England can very grim, most of the time. And it's hard to wake up in the morings, when it's sunny it's lively. Luckely for me, today was sunny.

No, sadly not. It snowed today, but it's slowly melting away again. I'm so sick and tired of this, we never get any snow before january and it sucks!

The last time England had a white Christmas was around 25 years ago. Which is too damn long! I wish I could move somewhere where it snows at least 3 times a year or something! As long as it snows heavily, wherever I am, I'll be happy . But NOOOOO!!! Today it has to rain!! Freezing weather and rain! I mean, who's ever heard of that!!! YARGH!!!! *walks off into the distance ranting and raving, screaming at passers by*

Australia never gets a white Christmas. Unless you count that time a few years ago when Alice Springs of all places got snow (Alice Springs is smack bang in the center of Australia, surrounded by nothing but desert, and is thus very, very, very hot - so you can see what it is amazing that it would snow THERE).

I've grown up in a hot environment, and I expected Christmas to be hotter than it currently is. Normally we have a few bushfires going on, but it's been so overcast the past few days. But I like the weather here. It means I can go out to the beach, get a tan, and have "fun in the sun"! Although I would like to one day experience it snowing on me. I'll probably be 25 years old, and acting like a kid playing in the snow

Alcar, I take it you've never been in real snow?

By the way, I recall that a few years ago it snowed on X-mas eve and X-mas day in Ludlow, England.

And Yesterday, X-mas day, it snowed here.

Dallas has stupid hot summers, and winter temperatures that range from the bitter cold to breezy skies. Four days ago, we recieved snow (to the delight of north Texas). And staying true to the Texas manner, the snow promptly melted away the next day. Winter is still young though, so I may get to see a second round of snow this season. Good stuff.

The weather down here in South-East England has been damn strange. . . Either it rains for ages and ages, or is really clear and sunny for ages and ages. We had fog down here a couple of weeks ago for the first time in a long while. However, it's not nearly as bad down here as people make it out to be. Not overcast and foggy all the time. . . Sometimes it can be quite nice.
Anyway, currently it's freezing cold and clear skies. :P Really nice moonlit night out here.

Snow is awesome for the one fact that you can snowboard on it. :P

All we've had where I am is rain, extreme Canadian temperature, and hail. Which makes it impossible to go out. Although there was one day when it hailed so much that it did look like we'd had a white christmas.

I hate cold weather. I prefer more temperate climates where I can go sunbathe but not get mega overheated...

Tennessee's weather wasn't so bad this Christmas. There wasn't any snow, but I didn't really want any, anyway. I'd rather it come during school for a nice snow day. As I recall, we've had a few white Christmases and stuff.

Overall, I'm fond of the weather here. We get to experience all sorts of weather: snowy winters--but not too much snow, and sunny summers--but not too hot for the most part. The weather is definitely one of the things I'm miss about this place when I move off someday near the ocean.

I have. Down in the Snowy Mountains, six or seven hours drive south from Sydney. Been down there three times, and went skiing which was mega-fun! But the snow there is a mix of real snow, and fake-machine generated snow.

But I've never actually seen it snow, as in real snow falling to the Earth. I'd just really like to see that, up against an evening sky. I think the white against the black sky would look so whimsical.

At least the chances of having it snow over there aren't eleven billion to one

I'll see it snow one day! Be it Europe or America!

Try Canada. I recall that it snows more often in mainland Europe than in Britain as it isn't constantly being made humid by the gulf stream.

Last year, I got 12 days off of school cos it snowed like hell. It was snowy over xmas and all the way into Feb. ^_^ It was amazing... That's why it's not snowing this year I guess...

It's so cold though! It's freezing!

Oh and it rained... It rained like mad....

But no sun... Just clouds and cold and rain.

This year was my first without snow.. There was always snowy in Poland. But not this year. November was white, but December wasn't. But I don't like snow too much.. Everyone throws snowballs on me. Snow is wet, and cold. But I lkie snow, when I'm at home Modelmaking next to window with a view at snowy fields.. That's the best thing..
There is always sunshine at Dec. in Poland. And it's always snowy..
