January OXM will include Stranger's Wrath Demo

I have information that says that the January issue of the Official Xbox Magazine will come equipped with a game demo of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath! All those lucky people who buy OXM will get to see it, and if they like it, buy it! Love the publicity this is going to give Oddworld Inhabitants.

The game demo is not a playable version.

Which OXM will that be? Because as far as I know the OXM's of different countries have different demos on the discs.

As far as I know, it is only the US Official Xbox Magazine. Anyway, I thought all the other OXM's were preceeded by Australian OXM, or French OXM, etc, etc? The US OXM is simply OXM.

Eeek! Two errors I might have made: The January issue might actually be the Holiday 2004 issue. And the demo may not be playable, but simply similar to the EGM demo. I'll have to do even MORE snooping to confirm it.

I think all OXM's came out at roughly the same time as they're all run by the same publishing company. Anyway, if it's the holiday 2004 issue, it'll probably be just the US version. I got the UK holiday 2004 issue on 4th of December and there was nothnig to do with Stranger's Wrath on the demo or in the magazine itself.

they release their discs 1 month before the actual month. So you'll get January in December, Feburary in January, ect.


NOOOO! THE DAMN PACKERS PUT THE DISC IN WRONG, AND NOW THERES A BIG IMPRINT OF THE SLEEVE ACROSS THE DISC AND IT WON'T WORK!

damnit... I guess I'll order another one and hope it makes it through this time...

Anyway, it's under "Features", so it's not a playable demo. It's a "Game Demo", so I think it's just a gameplay demo. If not that, then it's a cinematic, but it's not playable.

Ah. Well, at least that is settled. It's not a playable demo, unfortunately, but a feature. When you do get your hands on a working copy, do tell us whether it is the same as the EGM feature.

I have the EGM DVD with Stranger. It's very cool.

This demo actually shows Lorne Breaking down the door of the base, when he usually has said in previous demos that if he did that he'd have "one hell of a fight" on his hands.

I'll try it again tomarrow... for some reason, the last few discs havn't worked right when I get them, and they all have had a big scratch on em. But about a week after I get it, it starts working fine... wierd...

YAY! IT WORKS!

okay, the video basicly is Lorne playing Stranger and showing off a bunch of features.

Gamespeak has been reduced to one button. If you use gamespeak and are alone, Stranger will talk to himself, telling to what your next goal is. If you use it next to, for example, a Clankkerz, Stranger will talk to them, and you sometimes get hints as to where your supposed to go.

He showed the bounty store, which you get information on bounties, obviously. The bounty that was in the demo was Dirty Hands Floyd, I think his name was (The guy in Oddguy's avatar). If you bring him back in alive, you get $100, but if you bring him back dead, you only get $50. Nice strategetic point there.

He also showed off live ammo, how to catch it, and what they can be used for. He showed using the Zapfly (the infinite ammo one, their called zap flys, right?) to catch Bolamites, Chipmunkz, and Thud Slugs. It then showed him using a Chipmunkz- Bolamite combination to wrap up Dirty Hands Floyd and suck him into your vacuum-type bounty bag.

It was very cool.

Not in the UK OXM, for January anyway, I got mine yesterday and there's not a trace. They say they'll have a preview next month though.

I have the controls buttons and how they work:

A - to jump
Y - to regian health
X - Gamespeak/ bag up enemies
B - Reload
R - Fire ammo/ head-butt attack
R click - Change perspective
L - Fire ammo/spin attack
L click - Punch in first person view
Black Button - Rotate camera/ scope

I am a subscriber to OXM and I got the January 2005 Issue Its NOT a playable demo, its a video demo of Stranger a very cool demostration Can't wait for it to come out.
