Gameplay?

when you're moving Abe/Munch around, does foreward always make you go foreward or is it dependant on the camera position???

and when controlling Munch in his wheelchair, does the left-stick control his left wheel and the right-stick control his right wheel (i think i heard this somewhere, but i can't be sure)?

Probably it will work this way, Gluk: you will control your character as you control a vehicle, this the most common navigation solution to 3d games, because it is a lot more easy to the player to memorize the controls.

3D games with isometric views (no perspective, no spinnig camera movement) don't need to use the controls this way, but when the game's point of view changes almost constantly, like in Munch's Odysee, it is two hard to the player to guess every time which button to press or to which side he/she has to move the stick to make his/her character to turn around.

it could be like metal gear solid's gameplay.

your buttons go with what position the camera is in.

or it could be more like spyros gameplay

only one gameplay movement and camara shifting it available

All the reviews of it say the controls are really good. I am curious how Munch's Wheelchair will work. Maybe it will be like some racing games where one analog stick controls direction and the other is acceleration..

This is what syd has on his site:
:
Rick Bergh has managed to play the Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee demo at a Wal-Mart store in the United States. He makes a number of comments about the control system: "The graphics? Flawless. The GameSpeak? Hilarious. The controls? Very intuitive. Abe and Munch's movements were perfect (especially Abe's sneaking)! Your character always moves in the direction you push the stick (not like Resident Evil), but the usual problems from the camera moving while you're walking along don't happen." The particular Wal-Mart where Rick played was located in Renton, Washington.
