Get this: After I won a sniping war for an item I really wanted, in the joy of the moment and as a friendly poke, I emailed the guy who so NEARLY won the item. The email said "Smoked.

".
So he doesn't reply for a while and I say well ok, he must've just thought nothing of it.
Then he comes back at me with this:
"Well if you are happy by paying over the odds thats fine by me. I got one a while ago for £29.00!!! You must have money to burn! I did not know that this was a game and am not very happy that you sent me this e-mail in the first place."
Hahaha BULLSHIT!
First of all, if he managed to get one for £29, then he is a very lucky man indeed! Both the ones I have bid on have bid on have gone for over £30 to £35. Secondly, if he really DID pay £29 for one, why is it that I "must have money to burn" when I only payed £5 more than his maximum bid anyway? He put in £35, I won it for £40, and he also attempted to snipe it off me. So what?
My email was clearly a joke. It had a smily face, and said "smoked". Do you really think I or anybody else would say that if the intention was to offend? I mean jesus christ it's only ebay, not a court battle. Take it with a pinch of salt and try again if you lose - no need to get all het up over a little bit of friendly banter and b/s me about winning bids.
Part of the reason I emailed him was because I respected him for so nearly beating me at the bid. Although someone else did bid after him, he very nearly caught me out. After seeing this email he sent me, to be honest I don't think I can really say I have much respect for him at all.
What a total ass.
