Is it just me, or does Oddworld in Munche's oddysee look different?

I'm looking at all the promo shots and it looks so clean and neat looking, Oddworld in previous games wasn't like that, it was nitty gritty, and the glukkon compounds were a neat freaks nightmare, did they change all that? I hope not, lets here what ya' think.

I agree totally. I can understand why Vykkers Labs would have to be clean, although a really mucky Vykkers Lab would be much better. But the Glukkon factories and facilities - well, RuptureFarms was really bloody with lumps of meat everywhere. Then in Abe's Exoddus all the Glukkon franchises suddenly became acceptable by the health and safety inspectors - Bonewerkz with its new red bricks, the Brewery - very clean, FeeCo Depot - again clean, and even the Slig Barracks seemed too shiney to be likely.

I agree too. And the facilities in Munch´s Oddysee are still more "clean" and shiney. Now seems our houses. How is the next... Squeek´s Oddysee will occurs in disneyland ?

I think Bonewerkz is not so clean and new as you say! Look at this!

Mountains of bone powder everywhere, bricks are missing in the wall... This is surely a nasty filthy place....

Talking about Slig barracks. That is the only area I don't really like. It makes me feel down, so it fits perfectly in Oddworld.


FeeCo Depot is just funny. So clean and attractive. It's supposed to be a tourist center I think, with things like unlce Aslik's tourist tips. But tourists like Abe doesn0t seem to be welcome....

Personally I don´t think the facilities of AO and AE are clean, I like and enjoy it.

I think the facilities of Munch´s Oddysee seems more clean and less bizarre than the facilities of the two first games

I hardly think oddworld is normal. Plus, with a whole bunch of righteous slig brawls and possesed machinery amuk you need to keep it skweeky to prevent slow down. Gimme cleanliness anyday, there'll be plenty of scrap mettal and blood to slopp it up after you battle a bit.

I also love the detail of the factories and environments, every screen was different than the last. I dont think MO will be too "clean cut" looking. You see, AO and AE were 2d games, and the 2d platformer was mastered to perfection so that one could concentrate on detail like OWI did. With the X-Box being very powerful and new, they might not have mastered it, I'm counting on it! I wouldnt be surprised to see in later Oddworld games the level of detail in the environment increase.

Yet, from the screenshots I've seen, the level of detail IS PRETTY HIGH! To put it this way, the backgrounds of the Abe games were not interactive, so they almost had a painting feel to them. In MO, the enviromnet is completely 3D, so that painting effect that I just mentioned is not produced. It may be one of the few advantages that 2D has over 3D, at least in the hands of OWI.
