Destiny's Thread
*Setting: The room hummed quietly. A gentle, melodic hum which heightened in tone and pitch every couple of seconds and accompanied the steady glow. The room was round, large and, seemingly, vetically endless. Hourglass' stood proudly on shelves that lined the singular, rounded wall, glowing softly as a thin strand of white thread stretched vertically inside. White electricity darting around it briefly. The shelves themselves were uncountable. Half an inch seperated them from the tops of the Hourglass', and so the actual number of Hourglass' was also uncountable. The walls of the room were built with large square stones, the stones were a perfect grey colour, with few, if any, cracks. Stretching skywards, into the stary night sky, the room seemed endless and was definatly roofless. This place was Destinies Domain. A vault, if you will, where all the Souls and futures of every living creature in a certain Dimension where kept. Millions upon Billions filled this room, the end of one Destiny being replaced by the birthing of another. And it was from the Hourglass' that the melodic humming came from, a gentle, calming music of Destinies intertwined. From the centre of the room a sudden wave of black fire materialised from thin air, the flames seemingly unwrapping themselves from around a present. A present with sinister motivations.*
Amber: "Ahh, so this is what this place looks like."
She looked around, tossing a strand of hair over her shoulder as she allowed her eyes to wander around the room. Eyeing up all of the Hourglass' as they glowed lowly.
Voice #1: "Leave, Amber. Leave..."
Voice #2: "...now. You do not..."
Voice #1: "...belong here."
Voice #2: "Nor are you wanted."
The two voices finished each others sentences, much like a couple, who have been together for decades, would. The voices themselves where spiritual and omniscient. Full of knowledge and grace. But as they spoke, Amber ignored them. Choosing instead to wander over to a nearby shelf and study an Hourglass that hummed softly to itself.
Amber: "I won't be long. Just looking for a certain someone, i'm sure you've figured out who by now."
As her eyes were gradually transfixed by the beauty of the thread, one of the voices took shape behind her. Materialising into a white, transparent figure that vaguely resembled anything humanoid.
Being: "Leave us in peace, Amber. Your seperation caused us enough pain, we do not need that again."
Amber: "Tell me, do these things go in Alphabetical order, or are they just random?"
She ignored the beings request. The entity itself being from the Order of Past. A spiritual creature created soley to make sure all free Souls integrated into life again. The second entity was from the Order of Future. This creatures task was to make sure the future panned out smoothly for all Souls, making sure each creature died when its time was up, and thus making sure there was enough room for new life.
Voice #2: "Why ruin another mortals future, Amber? Why allow it to feel the pain of disposition?"
She cast her eyeline upto where this second voice was coming from. Gently she smiled.
Amber: "After seperating myself from Destinies Prison, i have been allowed to flow freely and happily...as will he, for the right amount of time."
Being: "He will be in more danger, if anything. Besides, what will this accomplish, Amber? What do you hope to achieve?"
Holding up her index finger, Amber gestured for the entity to be quiet. Closing her eyes she then concentrated, trying to feel the Hourglass she was looking for. Feel its evil. Within the first couple of seconds passing, she knew where it was.
Amber: "What do i hope to achieve? The question is, what do you hope to achieve. Trapped here in an Ethereal existence. Tied to one Dimension until it finally it ends. Allowing the Souls under your charge to shift between Dimensional worlds, dictated by Karma. You have so much power, and yet, so little. What do you hope to achieve by persuading me not to do my birthright?"
As she said this she slowly floated upwards, her left knee bent slightly as she looked down upon the materialised being. Slowly she approached the 19th shelf, were she then stopped and hovered.
Voice #2: "Your birthright was for you to become a mentor to the blind, Amber. Not for...for this."
She scoffed, reaching for a lone Hourglass.
Amber: "No, that was one of the many possible outcomes. And also one of the least certain...i was dying. My, true, birthright was to die."
She grasped the middle of the object, removing it from the shelf as she read the plaque out loud to herself.
Amber: "Elsiben Iraxx."
Being: "You have died, Amber. Your Soul is a decayed wreck, wrapped in the thorns of Evil. You have no life. No, real, power."
Amber: "No power? Heh, no power? I could destroy all the Destinies in this decrepid little room if i wanted to. Your preaching to me is useless, you're nothing, and within time you'll realise that."
As she sauntered downwards, she tossed the Hourglass in the air with her right hand, catching it again and repeating the process.
Voice #2: "You would like to think you have a powerful ally, Amber. But they're beings above us all that could wipe us from existence in just a blink of an eye. You'd do well to remember that."
Amber: "The Sarraphin, yes?"
The materialised being looked at Amber in surprise, shocked that she knew about the true creators of life.
Amber: "I thought as much. You would like to think you know more than me, but you don't. I know just as much, if not more. The Sarraphin have no need for the petty lives of mortals, they're just food to them."
Being: "If they cared so little, would they shift time for them? Entire lives were eradicated prior to their Destinies being fulfilled. Beings of God-like origin scratched out from life itself...all to save one, mortal, life. Don't let your presumptions get the better of you, Amber. You may be powerful, but you still have a Soul."
Her feet touched the ground as the entity came to an end in its sentence. A gentle smirk crossed her face.
Amber: "I better stay on track then, eh?"
With a sharp movement, Amber threw the Hourglass down towards the stone floor, watching as it collided with it and exploded in a shuddering 'whoosh'. White light and electricity escaped from it, sizzling around the room and rattling the shelves around. The entity who had taken shape screamed in an insane-like howl, dispersing into white particles and quickly floating upwards, where its partner was also screaming out. And as the light fizzled out, Amber watched the small, white thread writhe around insanely. Like a Worm cut in two. Before steadily submerging into the ground, followed by the shattered glass and other materials.
~End~
