Slogmeat forums are now up.

Finally we have uploaded a Forum for the Slogmeat project. At the moment there is only one topic floating around, but hopefully as time progresses and with your support it'll grow.

So get on down there and do watcha' gotta do!

Check out my previous post to refresh your memory, http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=12637

Wow, is this your work?

It is very nice and if you don't mind, I would gladly join.

EDIT: I have registered and now have an account, but it is up to you on whether or not I get to stay.
If you allow me to stay, I would be able to take part in that story mentioned on the website.

Hi Cullen, you have been accepted. You will have to mind the registration page, it says that you have to wait for the admin to approve the applicant, however this is not true. When you apply to join it you should be able to add comments and discussions straight away. And thanks for joining, your support is appreciated.

The artwork is by two friends of mine Sapphire who takes part in these forums and Dave Sherwin who is hoping to to register on here soon.

Thanks again.

That is great, Thank You!

I read your other Thread earlier and saw that other art made by the very talented artist, he is very good.

Now, about your Forum, when people become members, does this mean that they can actually be apart of this story that you are making, or just post comments on the story and art?

Once again, Thanks.

We are working on the story as we speak, with a select number of people working on both the scripting and illustrations. When the story is near completion it will be released publicly on a weekly basis. We would like feedback from our members, and in the future there will be opportunities for members to help work on the project directly if you have talented experience in script-writing, illustrative work and graphic design.

For now we want to build up the awareness and get you glued in as to what it's about.

Hope that hasn't deterred you in anyway, thanks for your interest.

Alright, I will give some feedback as soon as you put it up, but when will that be? I know that it is weekly, but I'm wondering when the first time will be.

I would love to help you in the future, that would be really cool. I have never posted any of my stories up on the Oddworld Forums, but I'm actually really into Writing.
Also very much Art and Graphic Design.

It will be a while before the comic is released publicly however meanwhile within the next few weeks you can expect some concept work where feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If your interested will be posting some job opportunities in the future, unfortunately at the moment they will be non-paid, but still keep an eye out.

I realy dislike the layout of this forum. I can hardly find what I'm looking for. That alone is reason enough for me not to sign up. Find some diffrent forum software if you're serious about starting a forum, dude... O.o;

What is it that bothers you about the layout of the forum?

Not to be picky, but pretty much everything. Forums, IMO, need to have a global look. Go to every major forum on the net and you will instantly see the similarities.

True, there are standards. However the Vanilla forum made by Lussumo has a different approach towards discussion boards. It's alternative approach does not necessarily mean that it cannot do it's job.

Perhaps what I should change is the name, from "forum" to "community".

Might work. But I think I'm not the only one when I say that I expect certain standards when visiting a message board. On top of the list is that I must see within a few seconds how the site works, or at least be lead in the right direction. This is a rule of thumb for any website, and it's obviously not present with your website. I lost interest in it after looking at it for just 3 seconds. Might sound harsh, but if you are serious about doing this, put a little more effort into it.

Yes I think what you are saying is harsh. I am well aware of how a website should designate users. How are you to judge as to what effort I have or have not put into the production of this forum or the whole of this project.

I will however take your comments on board and look at making a custom skin for the site so that it is less alienating. However don't be putt-off by it's non-conformal functionality until you have tried it.
