Part 2

Mrs Eal: "I know, i know. But i just cant help but worry...What if it happens again? What if she's swimming one time and she has another...episode."

Mr Eal stepped forwards, his pink feathers sleek and well groomed.

Mr Eal: "It wont, the village will look out for her. The village know about her condition...if they see anything strange, they'll call us."

He hugged his wife and kissed her forehead. Calen was asleep in the other room, Mr and Mrs Eal were in the kitchen. After Calen's fit they had quickly rushed her back inside and kept her under close surveilance. Other villagers had wished them their best and asked if the Eals needed anything. Calen's 'episodes' hadn't happened since she was a toddler and that was a good six years ago. Now they were starting up again...it was all a terrible worry for the parents and villagers whom had grown to love the little child.

*In the next room the little girl slowly opened her eyes, her bed sheets upto her waist she blinked softly and sighed. It was a frightening thing what had happened to her and she was worried for her family and friends, knowing something bad would happen. Feeling it. Carefully she sat up and lifted her legs out of bed, her feet touching the dirt floor softly.*

Calen: "Mommy?"

She rubbed her eyes and made her way towards the doorway, slowly pushing it open with her left hand.

Calen: "Daddy?"

Her voice was groggy and high.

Mr Eal: "In here, hun."

The response was from the kitchen. The kitchen was the nicest place in the entire hut, mainly due to the fact that it looks over the lake and is such a pretty view when the moon(s) are shining brightly and the sky is clear. Her feet slowly pattering on the ground she headed towards the doorless kitchen, brushing past the dining table as she did so.

Mrs Eal: "Hey, how are you? You feeling any better?"

The child never responded. She merely stood there, staring...staring over her mothers shoulder.

Mrs Eal: "Calen, w-whats wrong?"

Her mother took a step forward and crouched down, not even thinking about looking over her shoulder. But Calen's face paled, her white eyes widened and her bottom lip began to quiver, as for outside she could see something. The creature, person, thing was stood right outside the window. Watching her, watching them. The childs arm rose, her finger pointing.
*Peeeesh*
A bullet sailed ferociously from outside, hitting her mothers back and cutting through her body before hitting the ground in a whiff of dirt and blood. The beast outside seemed to have disappeared but that now was irrelevant...her mother was harmed.

Mrs Eal: "C-Cal..."

She flopped forwards, hitting the ground a few feet infront of the child. Her father turned, looked outside the window and gasped.

Mr Eal: "CALEN!! RUN...RUN NOW, GOOOOO!!"

His head snapped back as he screamed these anguished words, stepping forwards as if to usher his child away but failing as something sharp hit his back and shocked him. His torso jittered forwards as his appendages seemed to be pulled back, his mouth mouthed something and then he collapsed in a heap. Stepping back Calen was freaked, her legs quivered and her eyes welled up with tears. She turned her head looking at both of her parents, helpless and on the floor. One bleeding, one barely twitching.

Mrs Eal: "C...Ca."

Calen looked at her mother, wanting to help her but also wanting to heed her fathers words. Barking was now apparent from outside and seemingly getting closer, she had to run...she had to. And as she turned the horrendous screech of her mother echoed through her skull, sending waves of terror throughout her body...

Mrs Eal: "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALEN!!!"

The child jolted upright, still in her bed, breathing and sweating heavily. The sound still echoed inside though and the heartbreak of losing both parents still resided. She wanted to scream, wanted to mourn but she could only do one thing...cry.
