Perhaps I didn't make myself clear: I
know there wasn't much difference in gameplay between AO and AE. That was exactly what I was saying - the gameplay of ME is likely to be similar to the gameplay of MO. Since, from what I've heard, the gameplay of MO is fairly simple, unrealistic and repetitive, I don't hold out much hope for a change for ME.
And yes, my 'gripe' with AE
was the poor humour. I liked the gameplay of the first two games; I wasn't
complaining that there wasn't a change between AO and AE, I was just using that as an example of why the gameplay of ME is likely to be very similar to MO...
