Okay, some of that was very slightly amusing, but Jacob - you obviously don't know the meaning of a true friendship. Fine, go and have your shallow little relationships, it doesn't bother me at all.
If a person has any amount of grey matter whatsoever, they'll know to be careful and not scream out their home address, last name, mother's maiden name etc. to just
anybody they meet on the internet. I am naturally a paranoid person, believe it or not, and it takes a lot to earn my trust. You meet the best and the worst of people over the internet.
Maybe I am a geek. I don't know. I go out to movies, parties and shopping with friends (no, I don't drink often, I'm underage), do sport, get reasonable grades. What I don't do is spend half my life on the Oddworld forums where half the users are younger than me, analysing people's posts for "level of geekiness".
And for god's sake, I don't visit chatrooms or have cybersex!
By the way, I have a friend who casually made friends with this man over the internet - they're now engaged and living together. It does happen.
I am quite irritated.
