Heh, yesterday I was going to create a thread about this, but I changed my mind. Doesn't matter now, I suppose.

Online relationships... I have mixed feelings about them. For someone of my nature, it's very possible to fall in love over the internet. I am not at all interested in a person's appearance, only their intelligence and personality; since sitting behind a computer screen is far less intimidating than talking to a person face-to-face, the conversation becomes more intimate and you form closer friendships. I've met some beautiful, beautiful people over the internet, and I trust them. They trust me. We've sent each other gifts through snail-mail, written to one another by hand, spoken to one another as you would over the telephone (with voice chat), sung to one another, written poetry... you get the general idea.

I have formed closer relationships with my "Real life" (I despise that term) friends by using the internet.

Blogs come into this, too. If you haven't experienced it, you have no idea how beautiful it is to share thoughts and emotions with deep, intelligent friends whom you love.

On the other hand, it is heartbreaking to feel such tenderness for a person that both of you can hardly type, only to know that such separate love is forbidden and impossible. To not be able to even give a gentle kiss on the cheek...
