Even though it does look cool in cooperative mode when one player dies and you see the other player running about & shooting in their screen, I don't think it'd work as a third person shooter. i could see their being some messy camera and control issues. Plus, first person perspective puts you in MC's boots!

The covenant as a whole are a race lead strongly by religion. Apparently, the prophets are their religious leaders. Like Majic_Abe said, they're like priests.
