Pit Vipers, example the Rattle Snake, has special pits in on the front of there head, that acts as a heat censor. Thus they use heat to find their victims and get around.

Exactly. Thats what I ment, and a Scrab has to strike fast too, or his prey (think elums and meeches) might get away. Cuz elums are much faster that Scrabs, I think. I mean, if yer chased by a scrab, it takes a while for the Scrab to catch up with you, while he can't jump big gaps. As for Elums, thay can run faster, and they can jump bigger gaps..

So my thoughts go to the heat-sensor theory...
