Great question and the answer is no.....None of that is true...Hula contrarey to off island belief and media...is a form of ancient dance that is above all to serve the main purpose of worshiping the ancient Gods of Hawaii..it was at one point before the foreigners came a very spiritual practice. So what do we wear well..anything that seems fit and comfortable for hot wether...just about anything...Allot of people here (men) wear surf shorts.as it is light weight and comfortable...girls well they wear all those cool bikinis
Anyway we wear clothes that is sutable to our conditions....About the music...and im telling you not everywhere you go do you hear music...but in Hawaii there is ussually always someone somewhere playing music..with a ukulele or guitar..drums and shuch...so yeah there is often times music in the back ground
