Poor education is not the fault of the students (who are often blamed), the schools (who are often blamed), or the teachers (who are often blamed). It is the fault of the Education System itself
|
Oh my goodness, how can you say that? Is it the education system's fault if a kid does not want to do his homework? Study for a test? Decides not to study for an exam because he has to go to the movies with his friends and fails it the next day? Yes, it's their responsibility to supply the education and books etc, but us, the students, have to do the work also and that is to participate in class and do our homework. That's our responsibility.

My mother went to an Open-Plan school, which was a school where you got to choose what you learned each day, and basically do what you wanted. It was part of a short-term scheme that was operating around the time when she was a child. The average grades of the students from Open-Plan Schools was 2 (count 'em, 2) grades higher than that of ordinary Comprehensives. Sadly, the scheme came to an end, and the Open-Plan Schools were shut down, because (get this!) they weren't profitable enough! Can you imagine that? The Government cared more about profits than about the Education of its youth! *shakes head* And people say that Labour are worse than the Tories... How short our memories have become...
