A gay man can be married with children and has never had sex with another man, and is still considered homosexual. Homosexuality isn't defined by sexual activity, but rather sexual attraction. The gay man in my scenario is in denial, he doesn't want to acknowledge these feelings so he's hiding amongst a conventional relationship that will leave him sad and unfulfilled for the rest of his life.
