No, I wasn't provided with any stimulants, actually. Others were, but because back then my insomnia was much more severe, I didn't really need any. I probably would have nodded off during the third day, had it not been for all the wires and the uncomfortable bed. They simulated day and night cycles, and we were encouraged to go about doing 'normal' things during the day, and then attempt to sleep whenever we felt we could. It really wasn't even five full days. I passed out like 5 minutes into the fifth.
My doctor is also convinced that the migraines I sometimes suffer are a result of my ongoing lack of sleep over the years. I refuse to take medications, because I do not want to become dependent on them to sleep.
I do however, have to inject myself at times, for the migraines.
