I don't think you can be born homophobic. Attitude is something that you acquire throughout life, and I'd say that in most cases, homophobics often have parents who are/were homophobic themselves.
I disagree with Danny, and find that most people hold onto the political persuasion of their parents.
However, aggressive people might be more inclined to become homophobic, just how dependant people might be more inclined to become alcoholics.
