(OOC: My 2nd installment of the Baby story. Whoo-Hoo.)
The sneer of the medical staff as Cornesh took the children out of their confides and walked them around was unnecessary. He would understand if they were not of Orkhid origin but they were, Sperm and Eggs of Orkhid men and women. Although he did understand why he got some of the looks and remarks that were aimed at him, it was mainly due to the fact that he was immensly close to a defect Orkhid. Aisha was older now, around one year old in Orkhid years. Her hair was longer, beautiful and deadly straight that was now running down her back. It brought disgust to all of the staff that saw her...all but Cornesh. Now, she was capable of walking and wherever Cornesh went Aisha wasn't very far behind. Holding hands with Cornesh Aisha toddled along as quickly as her tiny legs could carry her, burbling to herself and totally unaware of the glances she, her friend and Cornesh, were recieving. Aisha' friend was Jaques, they were the same age and actually shared the same compound as each other. His hair was of normal Orkhid shading, black. His skin pigments the usual Pinky-white and his eyes dark brown. He was of normal height and weight and could even pass off as a normal, 100% Orkhid if he wasn't in the White overalls that the medical staff forced him to wear. Every Experimental child wore the same tiny, white suit and black shoes. The back of the suits bore a rather large Barcode which, when scanned with the proper device, displayed the childrens entire medical history and other personal details. Aisha' overall were a tad different however. When she first recieved it and was told she had to wear it, she immediatly refused and threw up one Hell of a fuss about not wearing it. Finally Cornesh persuaded her to slip it on by placing a Pink badge of a flower on it and telling her that if she wore the suit the badge would protect her from anything wanting to cause her harm. Upon telling her this, Cornesh secretly wished that this was true. Janek' promotion was a very worrying thing to the Scientist who was caring for the children and genuinly loved them. Cornesh had become increasingly fearful for the babies lives, hoping that they would soon be used to further the Orkhid race into glory. Since these were the first batch and basically a test run of something considered very deadly it was unknown when the Nanobots would actually kick in and begin to change them. And in the meantime the Scientists and other personel were ordered to examine the toddlers and learn as much as they can from them whilst they still can.
Aisha: "Corkish...Wew awe we going?"
Aisha' blue eyes stared up at the gentle giant in puzzlement. Cornesh then realised that he had being thinking too hard and missed his turning. He shook his head gently from side to side and smiled at the little girl.
Cornesh: "Silly me missed the turning. You should tell me next time. Just say: 'Corkish you missed it 'gen.' "
He mimicked her voice in a high pitched way and purposely mis-pronounced words. Aisha giggled and kissed his hand that was gripping hers. Jaques giggled abit and then tugged on Cornesh' arm that was restraining him.
Jaques: "Jaques tired..."
His voice was whiney and his eyebrows raised in a puppy-like manner. Cornesh had seen this look before and instantly knew what he wanted...to be carried. Slowly Cornesh bent down and wrapped a fat little arm around the childs waist he then did the same to Aisha so that she didn't feel left out, as soon as he was satisfied that both of them were comfortable and that he too was comfortable in their positions, he made his way back to the holding area. And as he entered the compound and placed them both in their beds (Which were basically matresses on the cold, white tiled floor with a few blankets.) and tucked them in Aisha uttered the two words that Cornesh had never heard before in his entire life...
"Love you."
