Extreme? I don't think so. Shooting your tv is a great idea. My group of friends and I realized this a long time ago, when we came to a stunning realization: when you are watching tv, your brain is watching but the world is still going on. So if you were to look in on yourself, you'd be sitting there, doing absolutely nothing. What a waste, man. All those years I had gazed at the screen, so involved with the story, actually feeling like I was doing something, was an illusion. Who wants a race of incredibly smart beings to just sit around and be stimulated by the allusion a little box (or big) is giving you? I think that's pretty pitiful man.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love Oddworld and everything in it, and I would much prefer a human's mind churning to the puzzles of a game than the drone of a show, but still....it's not worth it dudes. The world would be a much better place if you just blew the damn thing up.
