Why is it that soccer is the only sport in the world that constantly has bouts of violence (and not just minor violence either, riots, stabbings, and more). Okay, sure there are other sports that have violent moments (such as the guy who bashed an opposition supporter over the head with a frypan when his snail lost in the snail racing championships
), but not in the amounts that soccer seems to have.
One theory is that it's to do with racial tension. Another is due to the "passion" of soccer fans. I'm not sure if any of these are true or not.
Well I really don't like soccer, it's so boring... especially to watch. So my theory is that it is so boring (i.e. no action, lack of scoring), that the fans have to release their frustrations somewhere, and they revert to violence!!!
Don't take the above too seriously, I just don't like soccer!
