Part 3
*Setting: 3 Scientists stood bickering at the recent discovery of their beloved project. The project that had cost them and their sponsors billions. They were in Sykes' office, his table towards the end of the room. His chair was behind the table and two other chairs were in front so that he could talk with who sat there more easily. A computer was one of many things that crowned his desk. Pencils, pens, bits of paper that held vital infomation about certain things. All very professional. And finally, at the back of the room was 3 moniters. Each flat and held up by a metal rod protruding from the floor. On one of these screens was the Consultant that he had discussed his experiment with before. In the room with Sykes was two other top Scientists that Sykes worked with, they helped and informed him of the babies progress and dabbled in some other projects too.*
The Scientists were confused, disturbed and sickened by what was happening. Out of the 30 Orkhid Embryo's that had progressed from the foetus stage 12 of them were defects.
Scientist #1: "This is OUTRAGEOUS!! I thought you said the donors were in top health and that there was no chance of defected foetus' growing!?"
The Scientist who had basically founded the idea was being flamed by his work collegues but also his boss'.
Sykes: "I-I thought that was the case!! Honestly, i swear. I dont know what could of hap..."
Scientist #1: "I do not care much for your excuses Sykes!! You have made a terrible mistake in not making sure that this project was a success. 12 of 30!! 12, 12 defects!! I cannot believe it."
The Scientist brushed back his dark hair and sank into the swivel chair that was behind him. Rubbing his face with his scarred hands.
Sykes: "It isn't my fault!! The donors...the donors, they must have falsified their records in so..."
Again Sykes was cut off.
Scientist #2: "Shat it, Sykes. Yau basically have screwed up ar whole project. Cost us billions you did, mate!!"
Stepping forwards the Orkhid cracked his fingers as he spoke. His voice common and slang, hardly understandable but still somewhat intimidating. He leaned forwards, placing his hands on the desk and staring Sykes straight in the eye with his dull brown eyes. He spat out more words of hatred.
Scientist #2: "Yau're f*cked, mate. We're gonna tell da good ole' council and see that yau're finished...far good."
Sykes voice got shrill and fear-filled. He turned to the moniter which was set up behind him. The Consultant was watching, bored of their bickering. He had not spoken and was yet to make a point.
Consultant: "S-S-Syyykes. Ahem. Sykes, you have c-cost the project and its spo-onsors billions. These creatures were supposed t-to be perfect. N-not one d-defect in the lot of them. O-Obviously you have forgot what we can do to you whilst you chased your dream of becoming the 'Greatest Scientist' ever known. I, infact, have a good m-mind to destroy all r-research that was performed and then have you k-killed."
The Orkhid Scientist stepped backwards, astonished by what had just been said. The Consultant was partially to blame also, but if he got murdered along with the evidence he could not testify to the Consultants part in this. Sykes opened his mouth to protest in dismay.
Consultant: "HOWEVER...however. S-Since we spent so much on something t-that could change the course of t-time. I believe we sh-should carry on with the animals that will be able to perform...the n-non defected one's. Is that f-f-fine by you, Mr Sykes?"
The first Scientist looked up, bringing his hands away from his face he stared at the screen in disbelief at what the Consultant was saying.
Sykes: "Yes...yes it is...thankyou, thankyou, sir!!"
Consultant: "G-Goood. I'll be looking fo-forward to your report in a wee-eeks time. Mr Fosters, Mr Maine."
The Consultant nodded to both of them, the moniter turning to face them as he addressed their names. The Scientists gave a shocked wave goodbye as the screen blackened. Sykes turned to Maine, the Scientist who was sat down.
Sykes: "Well...we're in the clear."
Maine: "For now...You better hope that all is well, Sykes. Because if its not...i swear down, i will kill you(!)"
He slowly stood up, adjusting his name tag.
Maine: "What do we do with the defects?"
Fosters turned away from them, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand he slowly padded around to the computer which stored all of the babies infomation.
Fosters: "Heh...we kill 'em."
He smiled to the two Scientists and turned the moniter. Leaning on it cockily he showed them the image that was screened. It was the baby Cornesh was so fond of. Aisha. Baby 1010v1. Now pictured with hair, short blonde hair. Something that basically indicated a disorder, a viral infection. Aids.
