Jacob; Danny; There's no problem whatsoever with sharing your opinions with the rest of us. Like I said, I enjoy reading them. What I don't enjoy (and I sure everybody else agrees) is when that personal attack is put into motion. For the record: the reason I am considering getting tatooed is NOT because I think it's "cool," but because the symbols have come to form a completely new profound meaning for me. In a way, I have proprietized then to fit into my life, and I think it's something that would be perfectly suitable for me to do, given my situation. Back to before, what I don't enjoy is having someone say that I need to "...get serious help," or convincing me how bad it is without even considering that there might be some sort of other unknown background information. And just to put your concience at ease, I will be waiting a couple of years before I consider further having the tops of my hands permanently marked.
Sal, Thank you. You mentioned that "you'd probably like to meet the makers..." Well, I've done that as you probably know. And to this day... They have both (Lorne especially) made a deep impression on me. For me, Lorne was just that kind of guy that gets your attention, he has a real strong, welcoming presence. The moment I first saw him walk in the studio doors behind me I was in awe. My mouth hung open and the whole bit. And even still I am just swept away. Wise man.
Back on topic, I do agree in the area that a tatoo should not be gotten just because one thinks it is "cool" -- it could just be a passing fancy and in the end, you'll wish you'd never have gotten it.
