Before Abe shut down RuptureFarms, they used bones from the slaughtered livestock. Necrum Mines was only established in response to the bone shortage.

Technically and canonically this should be true, and this is the version of the story I subscribe to. But lets not forget that Exoddus is implied to take place only a single day after Rupture Farm's destruction, and Necrum Mines is shown with fully functional infrastructure, including a train line that runs all the way to FeeCo Depot. That's not the kind of stuff you build in a day or even a month (even with slave labor).
