The first examples of the X-Box had a fault, which had to do with the CD thing being too high (or something like that), causing discs to get scratched. But any newly manufactured one should be flawless - that's just about everywhere outside the US.
And whether it's good or not I can't say, I'm no expert, but it certainly is better in graphics and sound to the Playstation2. Not sure about the relation to the *nicks term* lunchbox (Gamecube).
