I've been (off and on) playing SYNTHETIK with my brother and while it's pretty simple, it's been fun as hell. I usually really don't like rogue-likes but something about this game appeals to me. It might partially be the visuals which I mean, not like they're amazing but I'm a big fan of the solid blocks of color that are used and just the way the player character/enemies look.
There's also a neat little mechanic I like that has to do with reloading. I wouldn't be surprised if other games have done it already but it's the first time I'm seeing it: you need to press a key to eject an empty clip and then press another to actually reload. Like I said, it's small and not exactly monumental but it adds more weight to it for me which I enjoy, like how in Resident Evil games you have to press a button to aim and then another to shoot. If that makes sense.
Also the player character's legs look like they're from Master Chief's model in Halo 1.
