I'm not saying I think they'll be scrapped, I'm saying that this is now Abe's story as opposed to sharing it equally with 4 other characters, his arc is clearly the focus now.

This is probably the best move for the series going forward, at least until the fanbase grows. To many people, Oddworld is Abe. I've lost count of the amount of friends who I've spoken to about the series, where mention of Oddworld draws blank faces. But as soon as you say 'you know, Abe!' Their faces light up followed by some crap impression
they know them not by Oddworld, but 'the Abe games'.
The core fans would no doubt be excited by new characters, and interested to see how things go. But to a lot of people, if it ain't Abe, it's not what they want.
