I highly doubt this "clan war" is at the level you suspect it to be. Communities tend to have users like some of their peers, and dislike others, but that doesn't mean we're in some kind of Game of Thrones situation. Don't get me wrong, I think that'd be kind of cool, but I just don't see how we're experiencing Fallout-level societal collapse just because the admins can't spend every hour of every day here.
Besides, if there really is serious division in this community, then how does your behavior (which, with all due respect, borders on flame bait) do anything to mend the fault lines? And how does that factor into this perceived third party drama, when appointing the godfather of Clan A would do nothing but rouse the anger of Clan B?
Whatever tension there is in this community, we can do better than self-defeating rage. Varrok's Discord has served as an excellent way for users to converse and share their thoughts with the accessibility of threads and the fluidity of private messages. I feel like that is a good start.

I guess you didn't see my edited post.
Anyway though - like I said before I think the reason people are taking this election so seriously may be because of this weird mini-war. And frankly, if "godfather A" gets put into power, I think it'd be up to clan B to just grow up and deal with it for the simple fact that it is just a moderator position. The new guy (or girl) isn't just gonna go banning people they don't like for no reason.
