Honestly, even with the rise of Netflix, I think this idea still has great potential. It'd be a giant middle finger to the bullshit that is Youtube in its current state. If someone creates a new good service that can attract a wide enough audience, imagine how funny it'd be if all the big career youtubers finally just migrate somewhere lse where they don't have to deal with copyright bullshit? You might even be able to still monetize your videos somehow with ad revenue. Plus, depending on how this was supposed to work... I'd really love to just see one more nail in cable TV's coffin.
