Here's my theory: the image is a grid reference, and the letters and numbers in the source code correspond to grid coordinates in some way.

I definitely think you're right about it being grid coordinates since the numbers only go up to 7 and its a 7x7 grid.
EDIT: Sorry, I meant the first two numbers in each 3 number sequence! The last number (after the ':') can go as high as nine, but the first two definitely seem like grid coordinates.
Another weird thing about the symbol in the grid is that the piece that should go on top of the symbol also has part of the bottom of the symbol on it. Not sure if that really means anything, but it is kind of weird.
