Consider this: the whole reason why those farts were possessable and explosive in the first place is because brew was made from the bones and tears of mudokons. Abe was basically possessing what remained of the mudokons' spirits that helped make the brew.
All you've got to do is add a little bit of body horror or screaming and those explosive farts turn way dark way fast.  |
