It does also state that Mudokons change skin tone depending on their mood, I never really personally liked that though except for the whole deal with Abe being depressed with the fate of his kind

Interesting, thanks! So I guess the typical slave muds all being the same colour could be attributed to their apathy, whereas Abe is more naturally empathetic.
That's something the others could learn though. Presumably other muds could become abe's colour then, through time. Would be funny if they threw a twist in the quintology, that Abe isnt the prophecised one after all. Turns out, it's Alf, who grew a lot more considerate after being rescued
