Thirty years of work won't heal eight-hundred years of cultural genocide, but I'm as of yet, undecided on the matter. Also with Turkey joining the EU (supposedly soon), we'll be swamped with hundreds of them since they seem to like it here for some reason. Thankfully, we have no ethical tension here like in France or England, the minorities stay out of sight whilst the white people drunkenly call each other taigs and huns.
It's a comfy life.

Absolutely, one hundred percent agree. I don't want to prattle on about Anglo-Irish relations because I think I'd be preaching to the converted. All I will say--in regards to the Turkey issue--there is something like two dozen criteria Turkey must meet to be accepted into the EU, they've currently met one of those criteria, and at the rate their human rights record is collapsing, they won't be admitted any time soon. Don't expect a mass flooding of Turks into the EU within the next ten years, imho.
