So it appears Abe would have set all the livestock free in a compassionate move, which angers Molluck (who is already furious from "young CEO's" telling him how to do things) so Abe's only option was to escape. Then, in a hate-filled move, Molluck decides to chop up everyone in Rupture Farms so they don't lose profits.
I'd argue that's a bit more bleak than the game, and kinda gives more reason for him to chop up his entire workforce. Cool stuff.

I interpret it differently: Abe frees the livestock, so Molluck just goes for whatever is convenient, which ends up being the Muds. Which is somehow even bleaker, in my mind.
