You know though, to have queens, there have to be 'male' mudokons/ gluks/ sligs, so maybe we'd find out about drone mudokons or something??

Not particularly. It's possible that some or all of the queens are in some way hermaphrodotic and self inseminating. It'd be setting any "colony" of the species up for a mass plague because of the lack of diversity in their genomes, but still, imagine how fucked up that would be.
