Almost every Western country still has fluoride and chlorine in their water. Just bcause your one has changed its policies doesn't give you the ability to say that the world has moved on.

Yes, the original papers on fluoride was a long time ago, but you're acting like science rests on its laurels. Five minutes on Google Scholar gave me plenty of recent papers on the positive effect of fluoride on teeth. Also plenty of discussion on its potential side effects and safe levels. As far as I can tell (and obviously this isn't my area of expertise), the expert consensus is that the current levels are safe. Who are you to disagree?

The government is exactly the right organisation to be deciding these things. The government passes laws on all sorts of things related to public health. Are you saying that we should stop all regulations on safe levels of lead in water supply, active ingredient consistency in producing medications, and what you're allowed and not allowed to do while driving on the road?
