Sure they do. There are different types of scars man. I even linked to an article with an image of a scar that looks pretty much like it. Some scars elevate, some scars depress, some scars create a flat surface etc. It depends on the nature of the wound and how it heals, man. Right next to that big depressed shoulder scar is an elevated one, too.
That shoulder scar looks half healed, or perhaps the stitches were removed too early? But I don't see why you have a problem with the other scars on Abe's body and hand. I mean why wouldn't you looking this stuff up before declaring that "scars don't look like that"?
