I know I'm 3 days late on my own challenge, but I've been procrastinating so.
I've been needing to learn how to use GIMP properly since I'm a lazy fucker that doesn't want to go through the effort to get Photoshop to work on Mint, even though it's super easy, and I used it in probably the most least productive way. And let me tell you, I LEARNED A LOT (like how gimp doesn't have any equivalent to photoshops clipping layer just fucking kill me). So consider this an official reveal: I'm making a forum skin.
Here's a teaser of what's to come:
It's got that authentic late 90s early 00s feel to it. I'm so proud.
It'll be a reworking of the current Industrial and Native themes, getting rid of the oddity of the background and including the community tab up top so everyone knows about the groups function, as opposed to just a handful of people using the vbulletin theme or whoever happens to check out the MO and HB theme. I'm not willing to go out of my way to completely code a new skin, but I will go out of my way to make sure we can work these features into this skin. I'm about 85% done with it overall.
I'd have waited for Soulstorm to come out but I think we can all agree we're long overdue on a new theme and someone could easily replace the graphics used for this with more modern necrum graphics that come out of Soulstorm in a couple years.
