If you've done any 3D stuff then its clear Zbrush is the detailing step that uses crazy poly counts and things that would take forever or not practical in the "main" modeling app.

Just look at how that French dude did his awesome oddworld fan art, same steps

I think this could be done in real time if an engine like UE4 was used and they don't support PS3/360 consoles.
